In the early 2000s, Utopia was actually named “Park of the Month”, which is no small achievement.

This park, Utopia Park, really embodies what makes Utopia special; it’s lush, green, and happy. Families of all sizes, cultures, and backgrounds can be found playing here on any given day, spending time together and enjoying this little piece of nature. Togetherness, peace, and time in nature — it’s what makes Utopia, as a community, something special.

Utopia is a suburban neighborhood, purely residential, and the locals like it that way. As the neighborhoods included in the community of Utopia encompass only just about over two dozen blocks, the tight-knit locals pride themselves in keeping their yards in good conditions. This is easy to see in how beautiful the gardens, hedges, and trees are as you walk down the streets of Utopia. Indeed, in many ways, this little suburban neighborhood does feel like a utopia among all the stresses of big city life.

As is true for the whole of New York City, the community of Utopia is served by the public schools of the New York City Department of Education. Beyond these high quality public schools, local students also have access to a number of private institutions and charter schools.
