"We had a great experience working with our tutor, Danielle. She was wonderful, patient, kind, and always prepared. She even tailored lessons to Sofia's needs (and moods)."

Queens Village is located in the eastern region of the beautifully diverse borough of Queens in New York City, New York. This community is known for a number of unique features, including the Long Island Motor Parkway, several notably affluent neighborhoods, as well as a diverse group of cultures and backgrounds. The families that live here in Queens Village are so proud to live here in Queens, in the wonderful Big Apple — a place of diversity and opportunity. Queens Village has a lot to offer for all who live here.
This area of Queens has been around since the mid 1600s, so needless to say, Queens Village has a lot of history in the state of New York. It wasn’t until the early 1900s that Queens Village got its “official” name, however, and for a long time it fluctuated between Little Plains, Queens, and Brushville. In order to avoid confusion, the local train station made it clear by changing the station name to “Queens Village” in big letters. It was settled; this was Queens Village, read it and believe it!
Queens Village is home to a very diverse population, and that is part of what makes it such a great, unique place to live. The area that is now considered Queens Village was always so densely populated, however, and it was much more rural before the great housing boom that the borough of Queens experienced in the early 1900s. As New York City began to grow at a tremendous rate during the Industrial Revolution, the population boom caused many more affluent families to move out of the busier parts of the city to the more rural surrounding communities. Queens Village was desirable because it was less crowded, the crime rate was lower, and the quality of life was higher. It was much better to raise a family here in Queens Village, and so many families moved here. As a result, Queens Village boasts many beautiful older homes in the Tutor and Colonial styles, as a testament to the time in which they were built.
Queens Village has an interesting place in racing history, as it historically hosted the Vanderbilt Cup at its very own Long Island Motor Parkway. Though it is no longer used for racing, it is a popular biking, walking, and running trail that still exists in Queens Village to this day. Casual joggers and nature-loving residents alike take daily strolls along this now “greenway” maintained by the city.
For any students living in Queens Village, the local public schools are served by the New York City Department of Education. A number of private schools and charter schools are available to local students as well. For students attending any local schools, Queens Village tutors are available for extra after-school help. These local tutors can help each student reach their full educational potential.

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
Typically within 2-3 business days, depending on subject, location, and schedule availability. Urgent timelines are noted in your profile so introductions prioritize your timing.

Experienced, professional independent tutors with strong subject knowledge and a track record of working one-on-one with students. Many hold degrees in their fields; some are certified teachers or graduate students with specialized expertise.
