Gorgeous parks, tight knit community, and a close proximity to the Everglades, Plantation is a city in southern Florida with a lot to offer its residents and tourists alike. Access to a challenging golf course adds to the allure for fans of the sport that find themselves in the southern tip of the Sunshine State.
What’s in a name? “Plantation” is land that used to be owned by the Everglades Plantation Company, and geographically this makes sense because the Florida Everglades are directly west of the city of Plantation.
If you’ve never been to the Everglades, it may be hard to imagine what exactly this part of Florida is like. The Everglades have a tropical climate, and are considered to be wetlands, which are swampy and humid. They are located in the southern part of Florida. Water that drains from the Kissimmee River into Lake Okeechobee then drains into a laid-back river-like system. This “river” is over 50 miles wide and over double that in length, and it flows slowly to the very tip of Florida, the Florida Bay.
Like the Everglades themselves, Plantation has a tropical climate, which means that its hot and humid during the summer and warm and dry during the winter. So when you read that the city’s motto is “the grass is greener”, it makes sense! With all of that humidity and precipitation, you can bet the grass will be green! Citizens of Plantation of course take this to also mean that Plantation is a pretty great place to live, and we can’t argue with that.
Families love living in Plantation because of its notable “small town feel” while offering its residents all the amenities of a big city. Along with the feeling of a smaller community comes the safety and security that families can rely on. Home town spirit isn’t hard to come by, either, as residents look forward to holiday parades and seasonal events throughout the year. Traditions like this make Plantation a very desirable place to live.
In Plantation, it’s impossible to get bored. Plantation Preserve Golf Course and Club is renowned for its impressive and difficult course. And if golfing isn’t really your thing, you can always hang out at the gorgeous clubhouse and take in all the stunning views of the course.
Parks are not hard to come by in Plantation, as they recently expanded their parks department and added two new beautiful parks to the list. If you like forested parks, you’ll love Plantation Woods, and if the beauty of the Everglades fascinates you, you should check out Camp Everglades park.

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
Typically within 2-3 business days, depending on subject, location, and schedule availability. Urgent timelines are noted in your profile so introductions prioritize your timing.

Experienced, professional independent tutors with strong subject knowledge and a track record of working one-on-one with students. Many hold degrees in their fields; some are certified teachers or graduate students with specialized expertise.

Support spans elementary through college across all core subjects (math, reading, writing, science, languages) plus test prep (e.g., SAT/ACT, AP, GRE) and many electives.
