Named a “Playful City USA” in 2013, North Miami boasts a thriving Parks and Recreation Department. With parks abounding, North Miami’s Parks and Recreation Mission Statement is, “It Starts in Parks!” Their goal is to improve the quality of life through parks and recreation services to create a connection between the community, its partners, and the city of North Miami.

One of North Miami’s finest parks, the Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park features an oasis of subtropical plants, trees, and native animals. Paved trails have been developed throughout the park, which make it perfect for a beautiful bike ride with the whole family. You can also rent one of the two picnic facilities for birthday parties or other special events. Small children can also enjoy the private pony ride concession at the Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park.

Residents and families in North Miami enjoy the many activities available to them, including community centers, parks, tennis courts, and aquatic centers. Just a short drive from the beach, North Miami provides its citizens with access to some of the state’s most beautiful and iconic shorelines.
