"We had a great experience working with our tutor, Danielle. She was wonderful, patient, kind, and always prepared. She even tailored lessons to Sofia's needs (and moods)."

Just a 30 minute drive southwest from Miami, the small town of Homestead will greet you with a big-city welcome. Homestead is located on the South Dixie Highway. Besides being adjacent to Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park, where you can experience a tropical subtropical wilderness with everything from alligators, mangroves, and manatees. Homestead also boasts family-friendly restaurants and shops, as well as the beauty of its agricultural diversity displayed in fruit trees abounding with avocados, mangos, passion fruit and bananas. Situated inland from the beach communities, squash, beans, tomatoes and even taro, that Hawaiian favorite, are able to be grown.
However, you’re probably not visiting here for the agriculture. The question is what can you do here that is unusual — something you can’t do anywhere else. What is so unusual in Homestead that really stands out as unique? Have you ever heard of the CORAL CASTLE MUSEUM? Apparently, there’s nothing like it anywhere in the world! Its unique history is that in the early 1900’s Ed Leedskalnin, an immigrant stonemason from Latvia, devoted 10 acres to carving over 1000 tons of coral into the most unusual, artistic, and unique structures ever built. And how he did it is still a mystery today! How did this 100 pound man handle huge blocks of ancient coral and carve them into their shapes we see today? Ed said he knew the power used to build the pyramids. Maybe he really did! No one knows. After 28 years of carving and developing the “Castle,” he passed away without divulging his secret. Added to the List of Historic Places in 1984, the Coral Castle Museum is worth an afternoon of exploration!
While you’re there, you might as well make a trip to another unique attraction near Homestead — the EVERGLADES ALLIGATOR FARM, home to over 2000 alligators that are hungering to meet you. Tour the farm in an airboat and watch trained handlers feed these leathery carnivores! And, don’t miss the snakes! because the Farm is known for its Burmese Pythons! They present these beautiful and docile snakes to show you how to handle your fear of them. They will inform you about invasive species of snakes being introduced by the public into the swamps of South Florida. The trainers discuss the other snakes in the swamp and which ones to keep your distance from. They even let you hold them, if you want. Stop by and be amazed as well as educated on the reptiles of the Everglades.
Carved coral and Alligators —two unique and exciting reasons for your family to explore the Homestead area!

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
Typically within 2-3 business days, depending on subject, location, and schedule availability. Urgent timelines are noted in your profile so introductions prioritize your timing.

Experienced, professional independent tutors with strong subject knowledge and a track record of working one-on-one with students. Many hold degrees in their fields; some are certified teachers or graduate students with specialized expertise.
