    About Miami Gardens

    The suburban city of Miami Gardens is a beautiful community in southeastern Florida with a lot to offer both residents and tourists alike. Located within the large metropolis of Miami, Miami Gardens is a city with a vibrant culture and a laid back atmosphere that is typical of southern Florida.

    A distinct and unique landmark of Miami Gardens is The Sunshine State Arch, located within the city and constructed in 2014. Named after one of the streets that runs through the city, Miami Gardens Drive, Miami Gardens is known for its large African American population. In fact, it is the biggest community in Florida that boasts a majority demographic of African American citizens.

    Football fans will be glad to know that Miami Gardens is the city represented by the American football team, the Miami Dolphins. Miami Gardens hosts games at their home stadium, Hard Rock Stadium, which is also where the local university’s football team plays their home games. Each year, Hard Rock Stadium holds a college level football game that has garnered national fame and interest, the Orange Bowl.

    When it comes to local religious facilities and houses of worship, Miami Gardens has a well-known church with national recognition. The Antioch Mission Baptist Church is located within the city of Miami Gardens, and this church has such a high attendance that it is considered to be a “megachurch”. This sixty-year-old congregation has modest beginnings, but fast forward to 2010 and you’ll see that the church’s attendance had risen to over 7,000 congregation members. The Antioch Mission Baptist Church does a lot for the community of Miami Gardens. It’s involvement in the community provides a vast number of resources to residents of Miami Gardens, including health fairs, mentorships, as well as social events like holiday festivals and celebrations.

    One of the most popular festivals in Miami Gardens is their Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival. This annual event has been going on since 2006, and each year it grows and includes more than just music. Now, the festival also includes a poetry contest, opening night party, and art conference. Considered to be a “revival” of sorts, locals and tourists both claim that the Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival means a lot more than just a good time. Good music, good food, good times, and good people, the Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival has something for all ages.
