Warminster, Pennsylvania, has a rich history in education and investing in the futures of young people. Dating back to the early 1700’s, this small community has had more than twenty schools serving not only Warminster, but other nearby Pennsylvania communities. With the goal of making education available, Warminster has been home to elementary schools, all boys schools, all girls schools, high schools, and colleges. In fact, Warminster’s is home to Log College. Log College has a proud history of education and excellence. Most notably, early Log College alumni went on to become great influencers and founders of many other well known colleges, including Princeton. Education has always been a top priority for Warminster and you can be sure that those pupils who showed great promise would get the tutoring needed to go on and achieve great things.
This small community has always had the desire to help equip young people with not only education, but a foundation for success in life. This can be dated back to the Emlen Institute for Boys. Originally established in Ohio, the Emlen Institute moved to Warminster in 1872. The Emlen Institute was specifically created to help and educate young orphaned boys who were of African American and Native American descent. The boys were given not only an academic education, but were also given training in agriculture and medicine. These skills ensured that they boys could grow up to get good jobs and become fully independent. Warminster still has a heart for displaced children today. There are many local programs that provide education and skills training to children and teens of all ages. One way that Warminster has carried on its tradition of supporting their young is through the Valley Youth House. The Valley Youth House is an organization that reaches out to homeless children and teens across Bucks County and other local areas. Warminster has a homeless shelter that is designed to specifically help their local homeless kids and teens. The shelter helps these displaced children get their basic needs met by providing food, water, and shelter. But much like Emlen Institute they don’t stop with the basics, they continue helping by guiding these kids through whatever steps it takes to get off the streets and into safer situations.
Once kids and teens gain the support they need in finding safe and consistent care, they will then be able to move past their basic needs and onto preparing for their future. This is where Warminster tutors can step in and help them to get caught up in school and excel in their academic careers. In fact Warminster tutors help every student to find success in reaching their goals and pursuing their dreams.
