Lower Makefield is home to the official Pennsylvania memorial built to remember the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The memorial is called “The Garden of Reflection” and it sits in Memorial Park surrounded by farmland. The Garden of Reflection was designed by a local architect Liuba Lashchyk, with an attempt to take the visitor on a journey; allowing a moment of reflection in remembrance and to grieve but to instill the visitor with hope, with peace and a reminder to celebrate the beauty of life.
In order to maintain the monument a non-profit organization has been set up which allows any donation to become tax deductible to the donor. Monies raised from the “Remembrance Fund” go to keep this monument preserved and maintained for future generations so that they have a place to come to in the future where they can sit and contemplate and absorb the magnitude of the terror attacks, and the direct and indirect effects on the population worldwide in the following minutes, months and years. The organization has set into place an investment strategy to cover the maintenance costs, which depends on an initial two million dollars raised in donations. Once this goal is achieved the interest will be enough to cover the annual expenses of maintaining the garden. The entire team that has been involved in “The Garden of Reflection,” currently work, and have worked on a volunteer basis to ensure that all of the funds go towards preserving the memorial.
Numerous fundraising events have been undertaken and are underway to keep the momentum of donations underway. These include an annual 5K fun run or walk which attracts many local residents and those from further afield to participate both to assist the cause and to accomplish personal health and fitness goals. There is also the annual golf classic which takes place at the nearby Jericho National Golf Club, which attracts many local golf enthusiasts, and gives them the opportunity to share their passion for the sport with others both friends and family who may not participate in the sport as often whilst generating much needed support for the “Remembrance Fund.” The organizers of the Golf Classic also encourage donations in the form of artwork, auto services, gift baskets, sporting tickets, sports memorabilia, restaurant gift certificates, jewelry, spa and salon gift certificates, vacation home rentals, collectibles and golf accessories, all of which are auctioned on the day of the Golf Classic in order to raise additional funds past the participation fee. They also put together an ad book in which local companies can buy pages or half pages among other options, which again helps raise additional funds. Another way in which the team has given donors an opportunity to assist and to show their support is via the design and creation of a commemorative 911 pin. It is available only for a limited window of time and all proceeds go directly towards the cause.

Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
