Most of us have memories of Halloween night, trick or treating for candy and whatever other goodies the neighbors might have prepared. But you’ve probably never experienced Halloween like historic St. Peters in Missouri does Halloween. Legends and Lanterns is a Halloween event that is made to feel like you are celebrating in the years between 1910-1930. If you’ve been listening to your St. Peters tutor, then you know Halloween is a blend of different traditions. You will see and learn rituals and customs inherited from the Druids and the Victorians, as well as a meet a whole cast of unsavory characters meant to make the night even more spectacular!
You might come across Medusa, but don’t look too hard, since being cursed by Athena, Medusa wears a crown of snakes and turns any that dare look her in the eyes into stone. Maybe you’ll see Sweeney Todd, a macabre barber who legend has it lured in his unsuspecting victims into his barber shop, only for them to never come out. If that wasn’t bad enough they next encountered Mrs. Lovett, Todd’s accomplice, who would then bake his victims into pies!
You won’t find any treasure if you happen to run into Blackbeard the pirate, a fearsome pirate who stick lit cannon fuses under his hat to give an eerie glowing appearance. Or perhaps you’ll finally find out the fate of Ichabod Crane, a devoutly religious citizen who was encounters the headless horseman and was never seen again. Hopefully you won’t have a run in with Lizzie Borden, the defendant in an infamous case involving the axe murder of her father and stepmother. Even though she was found innocent, history feels otherwise and her legacy has gone down in the books forever.
These are just a few of the characters you might encounter on this spooky night, along with a host of angry villagers! Since these creepy characters are most often citizens of St. Peters, you might even come across your St. Peters tutor on this haunted night!
Halloween is a tradition for many families, one looked upon with excitement and fear. It’s always fun to dress up with friends and visit the local haunted houses, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches. St. Peters has decided to take this fabled night one step farther and provide you a ghoulish and one of a kind experience you can only get one short period out of the year!

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
Typically within 2-3 business days, depending on subject, location, and schedule availability. Urgent timelines are noted in your profile so introductions prioritize your timing.
In-person at home or another convenient, quiet, safe location (like the local library). When families need flexibility, online sessions are also available.
Experienced, professional independent tutors with strong subject knowledge and a track record of working one-on-one with students. Many hold degrees in their fields; some are certified teachers or graduate students with specialized expertise.
Yes—safety is our top priority. Tutors complete screening through Simpliverified background checks, consistent with local requirements and platform standards.
