Palm Harbor tutors know that there is always something to do in Palm Harbor. Throughout the year there are events being held especially centered in the historic downtown area, and residents and visitors to the community alike are always encouraged to attend.
Events include monthly dinner dances, the “Ice Cream Social”, “Penny for Pinellas”, community garage sales, “First Fridays”, dance classes, bridal shows, jazz concerts, soccer, and pickleball (every Tuesday and Thursday.) Palm Harbor tutors are pleased that there are so many recreational activities available for their students to enjoy outside of the regular school curriculum.
The year 2017 is a big year for the “Penny for Pinellas” investments, as it is an opportunity for the locals to vote out the policy during the November referendum. As it stands the money that is raised by “Penny for Pinellas” is taxed from Pinella County residents’ purchases; this has been happening since 1990. All the funds that are taken are reinvested into the local community. This is very important, it is shared between the County and the 24 cities, and used to fund long-term capital infrastructure projects that benefit the whole community such as roads, bridges, trails, water quality, flood and sewer spill prevention, parks, and community security. The team who propose to keep alive the “Penny for Pinellas” initiative, assert that having this makes it possible to provide more and better capital projects. Without the tax the capital projects would be reliant on property taxes alone, which would substantially reduce the available funds and limit the ability to continue with the many projects that are planned (and need to be maintained) within the community. The outcome of the vote in November 2017 will decide the future of “Penny for Pinellas” between 2020 and 2030.
The “Ice Cream Social” is open to all residents of Palm Harbor and is completely free. This happens on the last Friday of each month and is incredibly popular with the students of Palm Harbor. Palm Harbor tutors make a note in their diaries to make sure to not miss out, as the free ice cream served at “The Centre” is available for only one hour between 2.30pm and 3.30pm and a line forms very quickly to take advantage of this refreshing cool treat. “The Centre” is Palm Harbor’s community center, where many of the local activities available take place. It features two buildings in total that house studios for many recreational activities including the sports and dance classes. The larger of the two buildings has conference rooms, a full service banquet facility and meeting rooms that are made available to the residents of Palm Harbor.

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
Typically within 2-3 business days, depending on subject, location, and schedule availability. Urgent timelines are noted in your profile so introductions prioritize your timing.
In-person at home or another convenient, quiet, safe location (like the local library). When families need flexibility, online sessions are also available.
Experienced, professional independent tutors with strong subject knowledge and a track record of working one-on-one with students. Many hold degrees in their fields; some are certified teachers or graduate students with specialized expertise.
