I could motivate the students using different types of mnemonic devices and increasing their awareness by doing a problem derivation like deriving formula on your Physics Class that the students could us for them to learn in their long term memory instead of memorizing otherwise, it would be only put on their short term memory on which they could forget those lessons causing them not to apply their lesson. My tutoring experience was on the time when I was tutoring students from this class Integrated Math 3 and AP Calculus AB, grade their test papers, and teach on how you could motivate the class by playing a games and disciplining the students even though I work as a Teaching Assistant on a High School Setting.

I am a professional educational interpreter with 25 years’ experience in K-12 classrooms. I have worked hand in hand with teachers 6.5 hours per day, 5 days a week, assessing educational access and identifying knowledge gaps. My primary role is to provide access to education and I’ve learned to do that successfully by organizing subject matter, engaging students, emphasizing key elements and delivering a customized learning experience. All of this is done in American Sign Language with Deaf students but is easily transferred to the general student population. I am currently on staff with San Diego Unified School District placed at a middle and high school campus. Each school day I go from theatre, to advanced physics, to integrated math, to English, to chemistry, to music and so on. I adapt my academic language and objectives in each classroom according to each student. I am agile of mind and analytical by nature. I have learned to build authentic relationships with students that proves to add to the effectiveness of my services. I love what I do and I love being in a classroom. I believe my skills and motivation would be a good match for Grade Potential Tutoring. In my current position, I am done by 2:30 each weekday and off the calendar for summer break. I would like to fill in my calendar with tutoring assignments.

Currently I work as a creative writing teacher with the Creative Arts Consortium, a non-profit organization that holds classes in different day treatment programs for those with mental illness throughout San Diego County. I have six months experience in working in Mental Health and over two years of experience working with children K-8 at the Boys and Girls Club. My chief aspiration is to supply a nurturing environment that enables children to develop their intellectual talents and abilities. In my current position, I teach students that come from diverse backgrounds and competencies. In the course of my career, I have helped students across a range of capacities to develop both written and interactive language skills as a means of achieving their literary and expressive goals. Through employment in a traditional classroom environment as well as in small group settings, in both tutoring and counseling positions, I have gained a heterogeneity of training that would make me a qualified candidate to provide one-on-one academic support in a variety of areas, especially in English tutoring. Some of my qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, an Associate in Arts in Psychological and Social Services and an Associate in Arts in the Liberal Arts and Sciences. The best part of my day, when working with individuals on a one-on-one basis, is seeing the joy they experience when they grasp an abstract idea. This is the greatest reward that has inspired me to teach from the beginning. I believe that my involvement in working as a tutor with individuals from a variety of intellectual and developmental origins would allow me to adapt my tutoring approach to each student’s unique needs.
