    About Spring Valley

    The small city of Spring Valley is located with San Diego County in Southern California. As one might imagine, Spring Valley’s name comes from a natural spring that was discovered in this region. Families that live in Spring Valley enjoy the slower pace of small town life, while also enjoying easy access and close proximity to all of San Diego’s big city amenities.     Before the Spanish explorers and missionaries arrived to this region, the area that is now Spring Valley belonged to Native Americans. The Kumeyaay people lived here when the Spanish arrived. After driving away the native people, the Spaniards set up cattle ranches and began building a settlement here.

    A famous local house, the Bancroft House, is an part-adobe structure that was built by some of the original settlers to Spring Valley. In the middle of the twentieth century, the Bancroft House was opened as a local museum, commemorating historical artifacts and the interesting background of Spring Valley.

    The Spring Valley Library provides wonderful resources for residents of Spring Valley. With after school clubs for kids of all ages, the Spring Valley Library provides educational programs as well as great rooms for studying.
