I am also an Episcopal priest and have taught Theological subjects as well. I am committed to my work and am used to getting involved with people.

In college, I worked with Southeast San Diego Tutors to tutor elementary school students and Varsity Tutors for ACT/ SAT prep. I received my multiple subject teaching credential at USD and have taught Kindergarten, 2nd, and 5th grade. I have extensive knowledge of the Common Core State Standards and of best practices for teaching them. I am also creative and energetic, and always work to make learning fun!

I love to help people move toward reaching their full potential! It's amazing to see the "Aha!" moments light up eyes of any age. My communication skills are considered excellent and I value my natural ability to relate to people of varying ages and backgrounds. I spent 5 years at an elementary school helping both Special Needs kids and English Language Learners understand the curriculum and improve their overall comprehension of how to do to the work expected. During this time, I worked mainly with 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders and Common Core was being implemented the last two years of this particular work experience. I've often been told by those in the field that I would do well with college students because of my easy demeanor and ability to find common ground in order to relate to most people. And I hold my own in casual conversation with university professors! :)
