When it comes to cities in the United States, perhaps none are as filled with history, pride, and prestige as Washington, D.C. Oftentimes, Washington is referred to as “D.C.”, but don’t get it confused — this grand city is something to behold. A “must visit” for every American citizen interested in the history of the United States, Washington is also the hub of activity when it comes to the nation’s government. Washington also sees a fair amount of international tourism, and is home to a large number of national monuments for which it is famous. Residents that live in this great city appreciate its history and would likely never want to live anywhere else.
Within Washington D.C., the federal government houses buildings for each of its three branches. You’ll find Congress, the Supreme Court, and the President all within Washington D.C., and with it you will find a palpable, heightened security throughout the area. The great White House building, where the President of the United States (along with his or her family) resides throughout the President’s term, is situated on a beautiful property, complete with a large green lawn, huge trees, and a gorgeous fountain. Of course you can’t just walk into the house — only honored guests can do so (after passing through what must be the tightest security of any building in the entire United States).
As far as National Monuments and museums are concerned, it would be impossible to even begin to list all of the “must see” places in Washington, D.C. A few of the top attractions when it comes to monuments and museums include the United States Capitol Building, the Smithsonian Institute, the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and of course, the Washington Monument which juts into the beautiful blue sky close to the National Mall that stretches right up to the Capitol. Just walking around through the city of Washington, it is fun to imagine this capital city in days past, when horses were the primary source of transportation, and when times were “simpler”. Even just gazing through the streets of Washington today you can feel the history. This city is “Americana” at its finest.
Families that live here in Washington are happy with the quality of education provided to local students. Not only do they have access to great local schools, but there really is no equal to living in Washington when it comes to access to pieces of American history. Students that live here get many opportunities to explore national treasures and monuments on a daily basis. For any students that may struggle with their studies, local Washington tutors are available. These local tutors meet one-on-one with each student, helping each individual reach their own educational goals.

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
Typically within 2-3 business days, depending on subject, location, and schedule availability. Urgent timelines are noted in your profile so introductions prioritize your timing.
