Acorn Park is located near the downtown area of Silver Spring. Other park features include several park benches, along with a nymph statue of Greek origin.

A quiet local park, Rock Creek Park provides beautiful nature trails as well as many areas for picnicking. Sligo Creek Park is where you’ll want to go if you’re looking for a great place to play tennis. If you’re looking for a larger network of trails for everything from horseback riding to trail running, Northwest Branch Park is where you’ll want to be.

From film festivals to lectures and conferences, Silver Spring is a very active community in a large range of fields and interests. A local landmark, The Fillmore is a place that many local families like to go for live music and entertainment. The Fillmore also brings in a fair amount of tourists from the rest of the state, as well as from around the nation.

The Montgomery County Public School system serves the entire county, including Silver Spring.
