    About McLean

    With its northern border running along the Potomac River, McLean is a city in Virginia that is home to some of the most beautiful luxury estates you’ll see in this area. Huge houses with gorgeous yards can be found throughout McLean, and the expansive yards are picturesque. McLean is very close to Washington D.C., and is also considered to be within the metropolitan area of the nations capital. With a high quality of living and beautiful natural surroundings, it’s hard to imagine anyone not wanting to live here in McLean.

    Because of McLean’s close proximity to Washington D.C., many people who live here work in the capital city. Not only do they work in the city, many of the residents of McLean are member of congress, or work for the government. Many employees of the Central Intelligence Agency also live in McLean, as its convenient location makes it very attractive to anyone who has work in Washington D.C.

    McLean is also considered to be a destination for shoppers who don’t have much of a budget. Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria are both shopping centers in McLean that feature high-end stores and luxury boutiques. These shopping centers attract shoppers from many surrounding communities, and anyone who may be visiting Washington D.C.

    Interestingly enough, the city of McLean is named after an executive at the Washington Post back in the early 1900s. John Roll McLean also did a lot to develop this area, attracting settlers and providing train transportation to the community.

    A local park that is well-loved by residents of McLean is Clemyjontri Park. Opened in the early 2000s, Clemyjontri Park has a huge playground, along with a gorgeous caroursel, which is very popular among the young children of McLean. An expansive and well-kept picnicking area is also available, and is a popular spot for families looking for something fun to do on the weekend.

    McLean has access to a number of elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools. Located within Fairfax County Public School District, McLean also has access to the Falls Church City Public Schools, and a number of private school institutions. Not far from McLean, you will find DeVry University in Arlington and George Mason University in Fairfax. Students who live in McLean also have access to additional one-on-one help, thanks to local tutors who are available to hire for assistance in a wide variety of subjects.
