Lake Meadow Naturals is run by Dale. Dale grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and got his start raising chickens as a 4-H project. Dale loved working with chickens and knew that one day he wanted to have his own chicken farm. In 2000, Dale moved to Ocoee, Florida, and found the perfect place to start his farm on Lake Meadow. He also thought it was a great location, being that it is so close to Orlando. He quickly bought the property, and as soon as the deal closed he bought his first batch of chickens. It was a special day for Dale, because the day he bought the chickens was exactly forty-four years after his dad bought his first flock of chickens. Dale even purchased his flock from the same hatchery his dad used and had them delivered to Ocoee.

As Dale’s birds matured and started laying eggs, he began to sell them and give some away to friends. He soon heard about Local Harvest. Local Harvest is a program whose goal is to help people find local, ethically grown food. This food is typically all natural or organic, and supports animals raised in cage free, low chemical environments. Eventually, local restaurants were interested in buying Dale’s high quality eggs, and business began to grow. Dale also realized that there is a major disconnect between where people purchase their food, and where it really comes from. So Dale started inviting friends to bring their families to the farm, to learn about where their food is from, and how it is made. Dale has also joined Slow Food Orlando. This is a local branch of Slow Food USA, which is an organization that supports good, clean, fair food. They look for food that is nutritious, naturally and sustainably grown, and produced by companies that treat their employees well, and run their business with respect. They hope to help tutor modern farmers in how to run clean, sustainable and healthy farms. Today, customers of Lake Meadows Naturals can buy everything from beef and pork, to fresh honey and eggs;
they can visit the farm to see how a small natural farm runs, and they can enjoy fresh clean food at its finest.

Ocoee tutors want every student to get a fresh perspective on school. When things become challenging or students don't perform well, it can be frustrating and discouraging. Ocoee tutors want to help students overcome those obstacles, so that they can move on to achieve their goals.
