    About Brighton

Named after a town in New York, Brighton is a small city in the state of Colorado. Brighton is located within the metropolitan area of Denver, providing residents of Brighton with easy access to all of Denver’s “big city” resources and amenities.

Brighton got its start in the late 1800s as a stopover city for those hoping to strike it rich in the Gold Rush. Brighton was also a great place to settle down and work on a farm, and soon developed into a thriving farming community.

When it comes to art and culture, Brighton is a vibrant community with a lot of opportunity. A local program that has received high praise is the Eye for Art Program. This art program provides opportunities for local artists to showcase their works at the City Hall building in Brighton. With new art shows popping up all the time and many different styles and types of media on display, the Eye for Art Program is a great way to get the whole community involved in local art and culture.

During the summer months, Brighton can really heat up. A great place for families to have fun and cool off is the Brighton Oasis Family Aquatic Park. There are so many different things to do at the Brighton Oasis Family Aquatic Park, and there really is something for everyone. With a few water slides, a lazy river for floating and relaxing, a wave pool, a kiddie pool, and many other fun features, you’ll want to go all summer long.

The Parks and Recreation Department in Brighton works hard to keep the city’s natural spaces beautiful, while also providing well maintained public parks and offering fun classes, programs, and events throughout the community. With over thirty parks and recreational facilities in town, families love that there are so many places to take their kids in Brighton. Living in such a beautiful place affords residents with many unique natural features, and lush parks abound in Brighton.

With eleven local elementary schools, four middle schools, two high schools, as well as several private and charter schools, families in Brighton are given a range of choices when deciding on where to send their kids to school. With high quality educators and rich educational resources, families feel that living in Brighton affords them with excellent education opportunities. For students that need a little extra help, local Brighton tutors are available to hire for some one-on-one guidance in a wide variety of subjects.
