Commerce City is a fairly spread out city in the northeastern part of the metropolis of Denver in Colorado. It surrounds the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge to the southeast, providing residents with easy access to beautiful open spaces. Its close proximity to Denver allows residents all of the conveniences of being near a capital city, along with an easy commute for those who live in Commerce City and work in Denver.
Commerce City is an interesting and diverse mix of residential areas and industrial zones. Though some commute to Denver for work, Commerce City provides many jobs for locals, and also brings workers from the surrounding communities. Known for a huge oil refinery, Commerce City has connections within the oil industry, and this helps to stimulate the local economy.
The history of the area where Commerce City is today goes all the way back to the mid 1800s. A ranch and trading post was pretty much all that existed in this area, but as soon as gold was discovered in surrounding areas, a hotel was built to house travelers and miners passing through. Until the beginning of the 1900s, the area was primarily dedicated to farming and cattle and pig ranches. The oil industry landed in the area in the 1930s, and Commerce City began to experience more growth.
Today, the close-knit community of Commerce City enjoys all of the local events that the city puts on. One of the favorite annual events is the Quality Community Foundation Golf Tournament, which usually happens during the summer months. This tournament is much more than just a good time for residents that enjoy the sport; the proceeds benefit post-secondary education financial assistance for Commerce City families in need. Another unique local event with an altruistic twist is the Spread the Love event in February of each year. Hundreds of jars of peanut butter and different flavors of jelly are donated by Commerce City residents in a huge food drive for the local food banks around town. It’s a great way to get involved and make the community a better place to live for everyone.
Families that live in Commerce City feel that the schools available for local children are of high quality. Served by two public school districts, Commerce City has access to many educational resources. For students that need more one-on-one help, local Commerce City tutors are available to assist in a wide range of subjects and grade levels.

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
