The city of Arvada is located just northwest of Denver and is considered to be within the Denver metropolitan area. Families love living in this area for a number of reasons, with one of them being the gorgeous Rocky Mountain backdrop. With access to many outdoor amenities, Arvada is an ideal place to live for the nature lover and outdoor enthusiast.
Arvada’s beginnings date back to the middle of the 19th century when gold was first discovered in the Rocky Mountain Range. Gold was found in a small local creek, Clear Creek, and the gold miner from the south that found it was excited at the discovery. Despite this discovery, however, the miners soon moved on to try their luck in California. Almost ten years later, more gold miners arrived to the area after learning of the gold found in Clear Creek. The surrounding area was found to be fertile land for planting crops, and so farmers soon arrived in the area and set up their land to produce marketable goods.
When the railroad arrived to where Arvada is today in the late 1800s, the town began to develop into neighborhoods and settlements. At this point, Arvada got its name, in honor of one of the wife of one of the local land developers. As Arvada grew, it became a very successful agricultural town, and the area became known as the “Celery Capital of the World” because of its tremendous celery crops. Nearby, Denver continued to grow quickly, and as a result, so did Arvada. By the time the end of the 20th century rolled around, Arvada was a very populous city.
Arvada is home to a large art and culture center; in fact, it is one of the largest in the nation. The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities draws crowds from around the state, and even international guests come to see its galleries, exhibits, and participate in events here. With concerts and theatrical performances occurring throughout the year, there is always something fun to see. Art galleries, museums, and more are all located at the Arvada Center.
When it comes to education, families are happy with the selection of schools in Arvada and in the surrounding area. With a high quality of education, Arvada provides residents with access to a number of additional educational resources to ensure the success of students of all ages. For extra help, parents can call on local Arvada tutors for one-on-one assistance in a number of subjects.

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
