Temescal Valley is home to Tom’s Farms, and if you are looking for good food, entertainment and family fun, it’s the place to be. Tom of Tom’s Farms knew first hand what it is like to work hard to achieve your dreams. He always wanted to be a farmer, but the journey he would take to find success wouldn’t be easy. After moving to California from his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, Tom started with a simple farm stand. His stand began to do well; so well in fact, that the owner of the land he was selling on, decided to take over. Tom was forced to start from scratch. While sometimes setbacks in achieving our dreams can be discouraging, they can be exactly what we need to go way further that we could have ever imagined. This set back is what brought Tom to Temescal Valley.
Tom’s humble beginnings slowly but surely evolved into Tom’s Farm. Tom’s Farm is so much more than a simple produce stand or even a simple farm. At Tom’s Farm, you will find everything from farm fresh food, to shopping, to fun family activities. You can still buy produce, but you can also buy everything from wine, to candy, to furniture! Like many destination farms, you can enjoy pony rides and tractor driving; but at Tom’s, you can also see a magic show, ride a carousel, and test your aim at the shooting gallery. You can even be tutored in geology as you mine for fossils, gems, and precious stones. Tom may have started with produce, but he didn’t stop.
Tom’s story isn’t just a good story, because of all of his success. Tom’s Farm is a shining example of the American Dream. His legacy is an inspiring story of why we don’t give up the first time we get knocked down; and why we have to keep challenging ourselves to do better. Temescal Valley understands this. After Tom passed away, his family decided to sell the farm. The buyer was Sunny Hwang. Hwang not only saw the value in Tom’s Farm but he also worked hard to continue it’s growth and success. Just as Tom didn’t stop at produce, Hwang didn’t stop with Tom’s Farm. Now, if you can’t make it to Temescal Valley, you can visit right from your home on their website and online store. Hwang kept Tom’s dream alive and has taken up the torch of the American Dream and kept it burning.
Temescal Valley tutors don’t want anyone to give up on their dreams. In fact, if you find yourself in need of help and support, Temescal Valley tutors are ready to help. This community understands that dreams are worth fighting for.

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
Typically within 2-3 business days, depending on subject, location, and schedule availability. Urgent timelines are noted in your profile so introductions prioritize your timing.
In-person at home or another convenient, quiet, safe location (like the local library). When families need flexibility, online sessions are also available.
Experienced, professional independent tutors with strong subject knowledge and a track record of working one-on-one with students. Many hold degrees in their fields; some are certified teachers or graduate students with specialized expertise.
Yes—safety is our top priority. Tutors complete screening through Simpliverified background checks, consistent with local requirements and platform standards.
Just let Grade Potential know. Your profile can be introduced to a different tutor at no cost to you, and once accepted, you’ll be re-introduced so sessions continue without losing momentum.
Support spans elementary through college across all core subjects (math, reading, writing, science, languages) plus test prep (e.g., SAT/ACT, AP, GRE) and many electives. If it’s taught in school, there’s likely a tutor with relevant experience. Adult learners can also benefit from tutoring services in a wide variety of subjects.
Most families choose 60-90 minute sessions 1-2 times per week. Cadence and length are set directly with the tutor to fit the student’s goals, pace, and schedule.
