    About Cary

In the northern central region of the beautiful state of North Carolina lies the wonderful town of Cary. Even though Cary is just a “town”, it provides a great many amenities to local residents, and is actually one of the largest “towns” in the entire country. Locals are proud that Cary has stuck to its roots and maintained a small-town feel despite its growth, and the families that live here love that because Cary is located within the Raleigh metropolitan area, they have access to big city amenities as well. Residents and visitors will agree that Cary is a town that has something for everyone.

Within the town of Cary, there are two fairly distinct regions. The west side region of Cary is the more modern part of the community, and is also home to the more affluent residences and upscale shops and businesses. Most of the west side of Cary is residential and suburban, and the families that live in this part of Cary get to enjoy a wide variety of parks and recreational areas that are located throughout the neighborhoods here. Several lakes and even a few golf courses are located in the western region of Cary. Now, to the east! The eastern side of Cary is known for being the historic district, with many older buildings and old neighborhoods, full of rich history and significance. The downtown area of Cary is here on the east side.

Cary is known for its many popular community events. A few of the more popular events include the Spring Daze Arts and Crafts Festival and the Cary Band Day, both of which draw large crowds from around the state. The Ritmo Latino Music, Art, and Dance Festival is also held in Cary each year.

Served by the Wake County Public School District, Cary is home to eighteen public elementary schools, five public middle schools, and four public high schools. Other alternative schools are available here in Cary as well, as Cary is home to eight private or charter schools. Wake Technical Community College is also located in Cary, and this community college campus also provides many great educational and cultural resources to the entire community of Cary. For any students living in Cary that need a little extra one-on-one help, local Cary tutors are available to do just that. These local tutors are well trained in a wide variety of subjects and can meet with each student to help them reach their own personal educational goals.
