This nonprofit art center provides a creative environment for artists and art enthusiasts, bringing attention to new-age art and the idea of using existing materials and repurposing them with an artistic narrative. Another interesting art venue located in Durham is the Nasher Museum of Art, which displays a wide variety of installations and galleries, of both local artists and global artists.

Home to several institutions of higher education including Duke University, North Carolina Central University, and several other community colleges, Durham boasts many great local educational and cultural resources as a result. With Durham’s younger population served by the Durham Public School District, local students have access to nearly fifty public schools from elementary school through high school. Beside these local public schools, there are also a number of local charter schools and private schools, providing alternative options for local education here in Durham.
