I would be a great tutor for Grade Potential because all of my personal strengths are a perfect match for this job. First and foremost, I love education and can convey my excitement for learning to my students. I am able to communicate ideas clearly and I adapt to a variety of personalities and situations easily. Secondly, I am always enthusiastic and compassionate. My style is to encourage those around me, and I celebrate a student's victories readily. When a student is discouraged, I am there to offer encouragement as well as come up with new strategies and ways for the student to succeed. I am rock-solid reliable, honest, and professional. I never cut corners and I would represent Grade Potential in a professional and cheerful manner. I am qualified as a tutor because of my long background in education, including graduate level work in counseling psychology and a multiple subject teaching credential. My work experience has helped me to become a well-rounded educator, including work as a classroom teacher, special education aide, and private piano teacher.

I think I would be a good tutor for Grade Potential because of my experience. I already know how to communicate the subject so that the student understands, but there is always room for improvement. In this way, it will be a mutually beneficial partnership. Throughout my education I noticed that I actually enjoyed teaching the material to my classmates when they did not understand. It was a satisfaction of getting someone to LEARN something they did not know before. It's a great feeling for both the teacher and student.I am always punctual and abhor making someone wait. I have never missed a session with my current tutee and if I knew I would not be able to make it to a session, I would call in advance.

I think I will be a good tutor for Grade Potential because I am very organized and responsible, and I am familiar with how tutoring jobs work. From my past tutoring experience, I have successfully increased my student's grade by 20-40%, and I have successfully maintained their grade at a satisfactory level. I believe I am reliable because I am able to handle all my classes well and still actively participate in many clubs.

I've wanted to be a teacher since as long as I could remember. I think my passion for learning as inspired me to want to share this passion with other students, to hopefully excite them in the subjects they are studying. Because of this passion, I've been tailoring my classes at Cal Poly with the mindset of teaching the literature and working with students. I've started the pre-requisites to the Credential, which have trained me on ways to get students to read and increase their comprehension using specific strategies. My job at the Writing Center has also given me an opportunity to work with students and to watch as their writing skills improve as they meet with me every week. Teaching is not only extremely rewarding, but also fun. As for commitments, I am definitely reliable. I have never missed work at the without early notice and I rarely miss class or appointments. Once I have made a commitment, I stick to it, it's a matter of pride for me.

I have always been a patient person, especially when it comes to teaching. I have not only coached and taught the people I work with but also fellow students in my High School and College classes. During my English Composition classes, the professors always required the students to attend a few tutoring sessions and labs in the library. By my third tutoring session, my tutor just signed off on my paper without reading it. When asked why, she offered me a tutoring position in the English lab; however, was unable to take it due to timing conflicts. I do regret not being able to take the position because not only do I believe that I will excel as a tutor, I also feel that I can help students better understand the material and love it as much as I do. I truly love grammar. the English language and American Sign Language and I know I would have fun making others love it too.

Being a middle school counselor allows me to hone my skills with kids all the time. I believe I know how to bring out the best in kids. I work to help motivate them throughout the year. Believing in them is very important. I love language, usage, grammar, and literature, and, therefore, would do a great job furthering their skills.I taught summer school for 5 years. I tutored a 8th grade student all last summer. I was a full-time teacher with the Grand Rapids Public Schools before I became a school counselor.

I am a hard-working teacher who enjoys supporting students who are struggling in school and who have learning disabilities. For this reason, I am a special education teacher (specifically a resource specialist). I also have experience and enjoy working with parents to develop educational plans for their children's success. I have many positive behavior strategies and hands-on activities to keep students focused and motivated.

One of my best qualities is the ability to communicate effectively among a wide variety of people from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
