To begin with I am passionate about kids and seeing them succeed; I am an experienced educator bringing 37 years of hands on teaching experience to this job. I am able to connect with my students regardless of ethnicity, age, or socioeconomic background; these connections allow me to build a working relationship with them that enhances and encourages learning. I am able to take complicated skill sets and concepts and put them in simplistic terms that students can understand, and I can connect knowledge to real world applications. These things absolutely help students retain what they learn.I have written curriculum for online education in the areas of Health, Biology, and Earth Science. Because of this, I understand how to create learning experiences that help students access content and retain what they study. I also meet deadlines and I "show up"; I am there when I'm supposed to be. I keep my commitments and take them seriously as I believe that speaks to integrity. I also realize that this is important for those students who count on me. I am a great communicator; this is essential not just in teaching and tutoring, but in being a good employee.

I am a kind, warm and intelligent young woman. I am a teacher who is without work and would love to work with students and have contact with curriculum. I am familiar with the new Common Core National Standards and would be able to tutor students in a way that their teachers are supposed to be educating them. I am a reliable, hard working, loyal, prompt and organized woman.

I think I would be a good choice for a tutor because I am an effective communicator who is enthusiastic and willing go the extra mile to make sure students understand the material. Having only left high school about a year ago, the subjects from then are still fresh in my mind and I am very familiar with many popular standardized tests such as SAT, ACT and STAR testing. In high school, I personally benefited from extensive SAT tutoring, and I would love to transfer the wealth of knowledge I gained from that experience on to another student looking to improve their scores. I was a top student in high school (3rd in my class) who learned to effectively manage my time and always enjoyed helping out my friends and others in my classes who needed help. Also, about a year ago I had a volunteering position where I was in charge of teaching a room full of elementary school kids environmental science. Even though the students I'd be tutoring now would be much older, I am confident I would also enjoy this position and could learn to be a good teacher to them as well.I would be a reliable employee because every day in college, and as a past employee where I was an Office Administrative Assistant, I have always been expected to be on time and keep track of many appointments, classes, and projects going on. Especially as a leader of several research projects in college, my ability to effectively keep track of time and organizational skills have been crucial to my success. I am confident I will continue to demonstrate these abilities as a tutor.

I have been working with children in many different areas for years. Most recently I received my Multiple Teaching Credential and because of that have experience in 3rd, 4th/5th, and 5th/6th grade classrooms. Throughout the last four months I have been a substitute teacher for San Miguel Joint Unified School District. I have subbed in Preschool through Sixth grade classes. I been a nanny for twin girls for four years and have helped them with their school work numerous times. I love working with kids, especially one-on-one or in small groups. I do my very best to make material fun, engaging, and easy to understand so that students are more willing and excited to learn.

I am an expert in my field due to my education and I possess over six years of teaching experience. I understand the different modalities of learning and can work with a variety of students.I am reliable and have been consistently working for over six years. I am patient and believe that students learn better when they are hands on and use a variety of their senses; hearing, seeing, touching (doing). My method of teaching involves answering the questions why and how, not just giving the answers.I homeschooled my two sons. One from 6th through 8th grade and the other from 9th through 10th grade until he passed the CHSPE at age 16 and graduated.As part of my computer business, I trained clients on Computer basics and MS Office products in a group and individual setting.

I am very knowledgable in English and History. I passed my AP exams with the score of a 4 on both English Literature and English Language, and a 3 on my AP US History Exam. I am in the process of earning an English Degree. I work very well with other people, am very patient. I can condense or expand my explanations to fit the tutee's needs. I love helping my friends with writing papers, and often assist them on their essays.
