Not only do I "know my stuff", but I love it! I am enthusiastic about these subjects because of the wonder and awe they can inspire in a person of any age. As an engineer, I often have to think outside the box when solving a problem. Every student learns differently, and I'll use the same approach to help each of my students learn the best way they know how, and I will never give up. I will present my lessons in a clear and structured way. I am friendly, a good communicator, and well organized. I am committed to my students.

My performance in my classes can attest to my subject knowledge and success as a student. However, I feel that I will make a great tutor because I am extremely sociable and responsible. I have years of leadership and work experience that have taught me how to relate to a variety of people from various background and be extremely organized. Although I don't have extensive tutoring experience I have always studied in groups at school and understand the differences that exist between learning styles. I hold education as a top priority and sincerely hope to help other students reach their full potential. Our world's future lies in the hands of the current students, and I hope to be able to help them succeed.

I can easily type more than 50 words per minute. I feel highly qualified for this position because I have experience of working independently as well as under supervision. I have shown that I stay calm under stress and I have critical thinking skills to resolve any issues. I have worked well with diverse group of people in California and also in Costa Rica. I have also given my counseling to students in Costa Rica and I can guide the students in right direction. I have experience working as a volunteer in WOW week in Cal Poly and I have also raised money for different charities. I have the skills and ability to monitor students and I know when a student needs an extra attention. I am a quick learner and I love overcoming new challenges. I have proven to keep students' confidentiality and I have a sense of humor to diffuse any tension.I have more than 10 years of experience tutoring in English, Math and Spanish.

Parents of the students I am tutoring have been very pleased with their children's progress in reading and math proficiency. They are also happy with their student's increased self-esteem, a side effect of getting better grades!I am an extremely reliable person and always do more than is expected of me; the Pleasant Valley School Volunteer of the Year award was given to me this year!

I connect easily with kids and enjoy helping them learn and seeing them succeed. I also enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.In my sophomore year of high school, I tutored struggling freshman in algebra 1 once a week for 6 months. I had to clarify concepts, answer questions, adapt to different learning styles.

Even though the Math Lab program was eliminated over a year ago, I still have students approach me, thanking me for helping them to successfully complete their math courses at Cuesta. The oddest was a waitress in San Diego that thanked me in front of my wife and several of her Skills USA students while we were in San Diego for the state competition. My wife tells me that she cannot take me anywhere - that someone will know me from the Math Lab! It was my dream job for 13 years, being paid to do math every day!

I think I would be a good tutor for Grade Potential because I thrive in helping others. I have always believed that helping others succeed is the best reward in life. I also have plans on becoming a physician, and getting in to medical school is highly competitive, therefore I want to be able to do well as a tutor to show the Admission Committees that not only do I know my "stuff", but I am also able to teach it to others and help them succeed in their classes and achieve their goals. I also think I would be a good tutor for Grade Potential because of my track record. I graduated Magna Cum Laude, with the title of Valedictorian for the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department of my graduating class. I worked hard at all of my past employments, which have garnered me various promotions and recognitions (Employee of the Month). I have also taken the MCAT.

I think I would be a good tutor for Grade Potential because I am passionate about the subjects of math and science and enjoy helping students who do not share this passion. I am a patient person who can really break down complicated and misunderstood concepts. I try to use analogies that the student can relate to in order to help them grasp the foreign idea.I am a very reliable person and take any job I have seriously. I recently just returned back to the United States from backpacking through Southeast Asia, so I do not have any other commitments at the moment. My schedule is would be completely open to tutoring part-time.
