I find chemistry to be very interesting and I love being able to help others understand it better. Patience is a very important quality to me and I always do my best to remain calm and helpful when working with students. I am never late to a job and I will commit to any appointment I make. I got all A's in the organic chemistry series at cal poly; I also obtained straight A's in the calculus series.Over the past two years, I have tutored for chemistry, calculus, and biology. I have also been teaching private guitar lessons for the last five years.

As a student I was always extremely hardworking and conscientious. I've learned that there's not just one way to learn something. Students benefit from various teaching methods. Over the years I've used many different study methods and tricks. I know that I would be able to help students succeed in the aforementioned subjects. I have patience when working with others. I will continue helping a student until I know that they truly understand the material. I will take each of my appointments seriously and will be present and on time for them. I know that the student's time is important. I always give 100% to my schoolwork and jobs, so this would be treated in the same manner. I've always shown up to work and I've been on time. I know that this job would be a good fit for me and I'd love the opportunity to work with students and help them achieve their goals.

While I have enjoyed many rewarding years in nonprofit management, several years ago I began to pay attention to the sense that something of deep personal interest was left under-nourished -- my love of reading and writing. My solution was to make time and space for academia, first as a student, and now as a teacher. My natural leadership skills are well-honed, I have acquired a good foundation of base knowledge, and I have a flexible schedule so I may work with students at any time and/or location as needed by Grade Potential.Part of my enthusiasm is grounded in the belief that proficiencies in the liberal arts enhance cultural understanding and are essential to success in continuing education, the workplace, and life in general. My goal is to give adult students a cornerstone on which to build their own ideals and objectives through reading, writing, and exercises in critical thinking. By gaining dexterity in comprehension and communications, people can blossom and soar, and I would love to help Grade Potential's learners find their personal bests.I am confident in my ability to deliver concrete skills to a diverse community and that my "down to earth" style is appealing, welcoming, and makes for a comfortable exchange of questions and ideas. I am a patient person. I am able to understand the concept by reading the book. Hence if I don't understand their homework, I can read their boon understand it and help the student in their homework. I am able to teach in different methods, becasue not all students have the same method of learning. I am a reliable person.

I think that I would be a very capable tutor because many classmates have come to be for explanations of class material inside and outside of class. I have informal experience explaining concepts in several different ways if one way doesn't work. I am not easily frustrated and will take my time until the person understands the concepts. I am reliable and always show up for appointments and can be shown through my previous jobs as I never missed work.

I have experience with various types of tutoring and teaching. I graduated from Westmont College one year ago with academic and leadership honors. I've had the opportunity to take a broad spectrum of classes and tutor a diverse range of subject levels. I was often the one in college friends would come to for study help, so I have also had extensive informal tutoring opportunities. This experience enables me to adapt to a student's learning style and courses. I am an attentive and focused teacher. I genuinely love to learn and especially enjoy sharing that love to see others catch a passion for learning.
