Terry Sheppard is an educator, writer, producer / director, of broadcast, corporate, and educational television programming. As an executive in marketing communications, Sheppard’s successes have been built around his ability to identify problems or needs and convert them into new business opportunities for organizational growth and revenue. His credits include design, creation, and visualization of projects for Media Arts Group, Inc., Coates ASI, Mission Aviation, World Vision, IN-N-OUT Burger, QVC, ShopNBC, and PBS. Sheppard’s diverse career includes seasons as a news journalist, curator of the Atlas Film Library, executive vice president of an international media production company, music industry entrepreneur, rock radio personality and motivational speaker for secular and faith based organizations. He is credited with the development of the Academy of Communication Arts in Mission Viejo, California, an institution designed to provide high school students with enhanced learning experiences to prepare them for high technology careers in the media. Sheppard is currently developing and producing media under the banner of his company, Storyteller Media Group, and teaching business education.

I would be a good tutor because I have over twenty years of experience working with students from pre-school through high school. I have taught students how to read using the Herman Method and Read Naturally Program. Two summers ago, I taught remedial math to junior high students.

It is important to ensure that all students' individual learning needs be met. Keeping this in mind, I make it a priority to focus on those needs in order for students to achieve their fullest capabilities and succeed in whichever subject they may need extra help with. I also believe that tutoring should be made fun and interactive!

I enjoy helping children reach their goals. I focus on positive reinforcement when working with children and provide encouragement and present patience while assisting the process of learning. I would be a good tutor for Grade Potential because I am a reliable, independent, friendly, and responsible professional who enjoys teaching and providing a service to benefit the community.Prior to pursuing graduate work as a school psychologist I worked at a tutoring center. My position required me to teach reading, writing, and math to students ranging from Kindergarten to 10th grade. The teacher student ration was 1:3. While working in school districts as a psychologist I provided consultation and direct interventions for students displaying difficulty in their academics. Furthermore I provided instruction to students with special needs including children with learning disabilities, autism, cognitive deficits, and students with behavior issues.

I strive to be an engaging, fair, and open-minded tutor who works with the prior knowledge, challenges, and goals students have in order to construct unique, meaningful, and powerful learning experiences.While working towards my English degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, I worked as an AVID tutor for Los Osos Middle School. Also, I am a volunteer tutor for Family Care Network.

I am an energetic, compassionate person with a strong desire to teach one-on-one where the impact is direct. Through tutoring, I feel I can learn and grow just as much as the student, which will enable me to become better at communicating and assisting the student in finding their true potential.I have experience assisting university students with research, writing and editing/proofreading their papers.While I don't have formal tutoring experience, I have supervised and trained undergraduate college students in a university library setting.

My confidence in their ability to learn and my willingness to patiently move forward brings them success.I am currently teaching a blind student with learning disabilities. I have experience teaching students of all ages with a full range of physical and emotional challenges.

I am a very dedicated tutor, I love tutoring and the feeling I get back when I am able to help someone understand the material better. I have dealt with students of all ages ranging from 8 years old to 40 years old.
