I enjoy it most importantly, which means i am patient and thorough when explains a specific concept. I have had experience teaching students of all ages and demographic backgrounds during my time as a tutor at my community college. I have taught math (algebra to trigonometry) to students whose first language is something other than English.

For the past three years, I've been working with a large population of students on reading fluency, reading comprehension, elementary school math, and writing. I've worked with students as young as four years old and as old as seventy-two, and what I've found with each person is that everyone wants to learn. Whether it is a student working on remediating skills to reach grade level or a student working on enrichment in preparation for the following year, my goal is to always help students reach their personal goals and match their true potential. I have always taken each of my students and their stories to heart and have enjoyed being able to help each person I work with firsthand. One of the first students I helped was a 3rd grade boy who was unable to read; on the last day of working together, he teared up in front of his parents as he read a paragraph at grade level. More recently, a mother called me and shared that her daughter--who has always struggled in school--had finally met all of her reading IEP goals and was finally at grade level for the first time. All of these students mean so much to me and I wanted to continue making such a positive, lasting impact. Although the work I've done has been through Lindamood-Bell and their programs, I've really taken my role as After School Coordinator and expanded my skills into school curriculum and content. I love talking to parents and teachers to really get a full picture of each student and make a plan on how to best help him/her. I've also communicated regularly with parents and managers about student progress, so I have great practice sharing progress both written and orally. After watching your introductory video, I would absolutely love to work for such a great company.

I possess years of experience as a fine teacher, in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I am adept at tailoring my teaching style depending on the age and skills of my students. I listen to them and adjust my explanation to ensure that they understand the concepts. Everyone learns in a slightly different way.

My strong background in math and science was developed through excelling in rigorous pre-med coursework and tutoring for my neighbors children, and makes me certain that I would be an excellent tutor and a great asset to Grade Potential. I love working with younger students and believe I am a good role model, especially for the underrepresented students in education, as I come from a similar background.

I am a credentialed elementary school teacher currently teaching kindergarten. I am patient and have spent most of my adult life working with children. I am passionate about education and finding different ways to learn things. I have a great understanding of the common core and higher level thinking. As a teacher, I am reliable and show up to work every day for my students.

I am very understanding of the needs of students as I am a student myself and have been using the benefits of tutoring for almost 8 years now! I have peer-tutored many of my fellow students, and I feel very confident in becoming a tutor myself. I am very patient and excellent at making learning less of a chore! My greatest asset includes reading comprehension, which is beneficial when relaying information. Tutoring developed both my GPA and my life as it taught me how to focus and to study. I am now fully prepared to do the same, and help students increase their confidence, their grades and their understanding!

I love working with kids--especially middle schoolers. I am also very experienced in working with kids who have developmental disabilities and learning disabilities. For example, I worked with the special needs classroom in my local elementary and middle schools for around 4 years. Additionally, I'm good at explaining concepts in multiple ways and I will not give up until the student grasps the concept. Throughout my years in school, I consistently had teachers refer other students to me for assistance, especially in the areas of math and english. I can also provide basic music theory tutoring and private voice coaching.

One of the main reasons, as to why I think I would be a good tutor, is because I genuinely care about the role that I am given. What I mean by that, is I have tutored and coached for many years now, and my happiest moments are when I get to help someone who is struggling with something; and witness them finally understand and do it. I love being able to guide someone to greatness, or their objective.
