I am dedicated and just solely want to help kids learn better. I am responsible, reliable and an over-achiever. I have a positive energy that benefits all students when it comes to learning.Yes, I have had multiple tutoring experiences with students in grades 1-6.

Although I have been involved with kids even since I can remember, I began my tutoring experience as a volunteer for VOALA (Volunteers of America LA). I immediately fell in love with the program and the high school kids I was in charge of. There is nothing like seeing a tutored person obtain their goal and see the satisfaction in their face and have all the hard work pay off. As a college student, most of my studies revolve around Anthropology classes, which have taught me how to become a better writer; thus, I have utmost confidence that I can help other students attain their writing/English subject goals. Even though I did tutor high school aged kids, I have extensively worked (within my church) with children k-6; therefore, I would like to help younger children attain any learning goals they desire while also uplifting their confidence in the subject and themselves.

I am a very motivated instructor. I like a challenge. Over the years I have developed a unique style that I think helps students want to learn. I am very animated and I think that helps. To be a good tutor you need to like people; To have the knowledge, and ability to convey what you need for them to learn.

My experience as a peer tutor and a private tutor has been invaluable to me in preparing me to guide students step-by-step through material so that their understanding of a subject goes beneath the surface. I am incredibly patient and able to work students through difficult problems or concepts by using simple and straightforward explanations. With regards to "knowing my stuff," I was the valedictorian of my high school, and have received 5's on 7 AP test (see Resume below) -- however, beyond that, I also simply like to learn for learning's sake. As such, my understanding of a subject comes from a place of passion about that subject, and since I personally enjoy learning so much I want to share that knowledge and understanding with others. Also, as the Captain of my school’s crew team and my crew team’s Relay for Life team, I have needed to show committed and consistent responsibility and reliability – as a tutor, I would give to my students and to Grade Potential the same high level of commitment that I gave to my teammates. I genuinely enjoy teaching and sharing information, and as a Grade Potential tutor I would make sure to give each student a special and personalized tutoring experience.

I'm qualified and very experienced. Very reliable, and communicate well with clients and on behalf of the company. I'm patient, enthusiastic, engaging, passionate, goal oriented and have a very friendly personality.I have been teaching and tutoring Math for the last year and half after graduating in December 2011. I have tutoring experience. I love figuring out problems and explaining them to people. Seeing their brain click when they get it is pretty neat.I was a peer tutor at California State University, Channel Islands. I tutored in math and physics on a walk in basis.

I have experience privately tutoring students in college english classes and helping students with english as a second language. I have tutored successfully for poli-sci classes and I have worked in the City College Luria Library for three years and during that time I have often assisted students with using databases for essay research. I also have tutored successfully for students in the core classes for music majors years one and two. I have privately tutored my fellow classmates in music history, musicianship, and theory. I have taught saxophone, guitar and piano privately. I also taught a key board class for after school that included first through sixth graders. I have always enjoyed tutoring and many of my friends throughout my time in college have sought me out for assistance with humanities courses.

I know I can tutor because I've done it for the past 3 years here at UCSB. I love to help my classmates because tutoring also helps me learn the subject inside and out. With regards to younger kids, I've worked with kids at summer camps and the tutoring system I mentioned earlier and I love it.
