Yes I used to do private tutoring for Calculus classes as well as tutoring for MATLABI can communicate myself very effectively and and knowledgeable on a lot of subjects regarding engineering. I have a lot of small tricks that I am willing to teach my tutees that will help them succeed in the course they are taking. I think knowing the tricks and secrets before going into a hard class is very beneficial for the individual's final grade.

I would be a good tutor for Grade Potential because of my experience working with children and passion for education. For the past year and a half, I have been striving to build my teaching career. I student taught at Del Rey Woods in Seaside, California for a year and have been working at Bauer Speck Elementary in Paso Robles for six months. Throughout my teaching experiences, I have worked with many wonderful children and learned valuable techniques to improve my craft. I think that as a tutor, I could enhance my skills even more by working with students one on one and learning about what kids struggle with in school and how I can help them.In addition to being a certificated teacher, I am also a reliable employee. Ever since I graduated from high school (in 2007), I have held several jobs and have never been asked to resign from any them; I have also never been let go. Once I make a commitment, I keep it.

I have 12 years of military experience attaining the rank of Sergeant. I'm good in taking direction and in giving direction. I'm very attuned to detail and have a joy in watching others learn. I've always felt, to get the most out of life, you have to give the most in life and giving the gift of knowledge isn't just rewarding, it helps lives, communities and society as a whole. I feel it's an honor to help others succeed.I've tutored for the Cuesta College Tutoring Center with recommendations from my business professor, Gary Rubin. I've also tutored as a resource from Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society, in which I sat as Vice President.

I have exemplary subject matter knowledge in many areas of both social studies and English. I also really enjoy my subjects and enjoy teaching. Tutoring is often a nice switch from teaching over-sized classes and being to enjoy one-to-one teaching and seeing a student progress quickly in a short period of time.I am a credentialed high school teacher and have tutored many of my own students, but I was a tutor while going to school and also homeschooled my daughter and held group lessons for our homeschooling support community.

My current career goal is to teach and I have thoroughly enjoyed each of my opportunities thus far to do so. I have been successful before in helping students become motivated in their learning, and helped those gifted students that wish to be pushed in their academic studies. I am fully competent in the subjects I have given above to the levels I have specified, having actually taught or extensively studied each of them previously at some point. I have a strong ability for self motivation in my work as is needed for any Graduate Student hoping to some day become a professor. And finally I do not back out or reject commitments that I have made.I worked last summer at Halstrom Academy in Mission Viejo. It is a private school that teaches up through the high school level. Though it is a school where actual course curriculum are taught the system is set up around the 1-1 student to teacher model. This gives the school experience an interesting flavor as a cross between actually attending school and being tutored. I personally had between 3 and 8 students per day ranging from between 1 to 3 hours of instruction per student. Generally I would only see a student once a week, but for some students in difficult situations I would see them every day to help them work their way though an accelerated course of study.

I have always enjoyed teaching others , whether it is coaching students the fundamentals of basketball or teaching them to tackle difficult Biology problems. I plan to become a Teacher and my tutoring experiences this past year has confirmed that this is truly what I love to do. I constantly strive to do my best and employ methods I have found to be effective in the classroom to help students achieve their goals. I have great expectations for my students and for my self as well, therefore I make sure I am always prepared and on time to set my self as an example to the students. If given the opportunity, I guarantee I will live up to the companies and students expectations.

I have always been a very patient and positive person. I feel that patience is critical for successful tutoring. Additionally, I have over 150+ hours of SLP observation. Thus, I am very familiar with the one on one therapy/tutoring environment. The patients observed had various language and developmental delays, building my understanding for the diverse process of language acquisition, and knowledge acquisition as a whole.

I love working with children and find working with children very rewarding. Nothing is more exciting then watching a child finally understand something that they have been struggling with. Giving a child the ability to have success in school is worth the time spent with them.I use to tutor Korean students in English.
