Currently I work as a creative writing teacher with the Creative Arts Consortium, a non-profit organization that holds classes in different day treatment programs for those with mental illness throughout San Diego County. I have six months experience in working in Mental Health and over two years of experience working with children K-8 at the Boys and Girls Club.My chief aspiration is to supply a nurturing environment that enables children to develop their intellectual talents and abilities. In my current position, I teach students that come from diverse backgrounds and competencies. In the course of my career, I have helped students across a range of capacities to develop both written and interactive language skills as a means of achieving their literary and expressive goals.Through employment in a traditional classroom environment as well as in small group settings, in both tutoring and counseling positions, I have gained a heterogeneity of training that would make me a qualified candidate to provide one-on-one academic support in a variety of areas, especially in English tutoring. Some of my qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, an Associate in Arts in Psychological and Social Services and an Associate in Arts in the Liberal Arts and Sciences.The best part of my day, when working with individuals on a one-on-one basis, is seeing the joy they experience when they grasp an abstract idea. This is the greatest reward that has inspired me to teach from the beginning. I believe that my involvement in working as a tutor with individuals from a variety of intellectual and developmental origins would allow me to adapt my tutoring approach to each student’s unique needs.

I have been tutoring in san diego on one to one for three years and I like it very much. I have been teaching math and physics at the college and high school level for more than thirty years but I like more to tutor one one to one, specially calculus and Physics.I have been going to different places like UCSD,SDSU,community colleges, homes etc to help students and I like to see the going from the C,s to the A,s from my students thanks to my help. I would be a good tutor because I have extensive experience working with young students in a variety of settings, many of which are educational. I have served a full year of student teaching, and spent five years studying education, so I have taken methodology courses in teaching and have had the opportunity to put my learning into practice. I have two years of tutoring experience.

My experience with tutoring, directly, has come from my time tutoring at San Diego Mesa College in the Star/TRiO program and with MT2C (Tutoring Program on Campus). Tutor training at SDMC focused on the paths that different students take to solving problems, rather than mnemonics and simply finding the answers. My approach to tutoring is more wholistic. Usually, I try to identify issues with cognition, but other times students simply do not see themselves in the material. "I'm not a math person", or feeling that being a creative type means that they cannot be analytical. As a student, I struggled with the same issues, and still do to this day, and I use this to my advantage. I've learned to see science and math as very beautiful and freeing areas of study and I can easily empathize with the students who are struggling to see themselves in mathematics. I find great joy in watching tutees have Eureka moments and I would be thrilled to have the chance to experience that as a part of Grade Potential.

I believe I am a good tutor because apart from having the qualifications of a teaching degree and having extensive experience in teaching itself, I believe that a good tutor is the one that facilitates Instead of instructing the learning process and observes avidly the learning styles and preferences of her student's to offer personalized lessons. All this plus keeping the students engaged and motivated make not only a good but a great tutor.I have 3 to 4 years of past tutoring experience basically in students aged from 11 to 16. In 2009 I start tutoring or teaching as an intern under the supervision and guidance of the academics registra. I assisted in preparing lesson plans, facilitating discussions, marking assignments, preparing research topics and running each students profile and records to determine if they had any special problems. After 3 years I resumed teaching where I was given my own class as a full time teacher . I was also given a set of students from different classes where my primary role was to mentor or tutor them on how to prepare for classes, how to study and excel. This was not only in terms of school, but also in terms of being able to identify social problems and problems at home which adversely impacted the performance of the students in class and their general well being. Later on , I taught in a another school, for a year where my role as a teacher was the same as above but with a special focus on helping students prepare for national exams like Cambridge , A levels and O Levels.

I am a good tutor because I thoroughly understand the subjects that I can tutor in and I have a passion for education. I believe that a student needs a good education because when a person has a good education they have a strong base for their career and the rest of their life. In high school I was a tutor in Algebra 1 and Spanish 1. I will be reliable for the students and for your office because I do not have any vacations or other jobs planned this summer. When I was in grade school I really enjoyed going to class and learning. I felt very lucky to have access to education and honestly had a great deal of fun and to this day I have many positive memories about school.

Hi there, I'm TJ...I've been in the software industry for 14 years now. I was a programmer for 11 years and I moved up to management 3 years ago. I have worked at many different companies of all different sizes in my time with this profession and I've seen it all at this point. I have mastered the profession, not just as a programmer, but also as a manager of software engineers/computer programmers, so I understand the profession well. As a senior programmer, then team leader, and now a manager, one of my natural abilities is to mentor, coach, and teach others. My success in leadership roles has been dependent upon that. I have coached up junior programmers to promotions for mid-level and senior-level programming positions, helping them to greatly increase the skill, efficiency, and effectiveness. Also, I was a computer programming tutor in college. I have a strong understanding of the challenges someone faces when learning to programming and I know how to help that person breakthrough those challenges. As far as reliability is concerned, my professional success has been built upon my high degree of professionalism, so follow-through and completion are a lifestyle for me. Based on the results I have with coaching my staff and peers to higher job titles, I've come to know I'm a skilled teacher, especially with computer programming.

I believe I would be a good tutor for your company because I really invest myself in the student and what they want. I take the time to understand their struggles and help to my best ability. I recently worked for San Pasqual Education Center- AmeriCorps tutoring native american students in an after school program. Also visited schools and served as a tutor to Title 7 students. I want to help make a difference in students lives. I believe it is important for them to make a connection with someone who is also there to help them succeed.
