I have many experience working with children, I was in a program that teaches k-5 children foreign languages through out my high school (I was in the Mandarin Chinese section). My mother is a teacher, so I had many teaching influences from her, I often help out my roommates with their classes by explaining the concepts to them in a more understandable way through hand gestures, dances, and drawings.

I feel that I am knowledgeable on a variety of subjects. I took many AP classes in high school and scored well on AP exams, so I feel confident teaching that material. Also, because I recently took the PCAT, the general chemistry, general biology, and ochem 1 material is fresh in my head.I am a very responsible and patient person. I grew up with four sisters, both older and younger, so I think that I can work with students of all ages.

I have tutored many students between the ages of 7 and 45. I am very patient and understanding, and will work with the student to figure out which tutoring methods will work best for them. I have a very strong understanding of all the subjects I tutor and strive to grow my knowledge of those and other subjects. As much as I love tutoring, I will always refer a student to another tutor if I feel as though I am not fully qualified in the area they would like help. My top priority as a tutor is the student's growth and success. I love helping people and count it as a great privilege to partner with them on their path to success.

Because I have experience, and the desire to continue learning, and sharing learning techniques with young ambisious students.I have tutored in small groups and one on one, individual tutoring. My goal is to motivate students to overcome the barriers and feel free speaking the new language that each subject brings with it. verval expression with new vocabulary opens the mind to a new reality with problems and solutions analogous to those problems and solutions we confront daily.Mathematics, and language(s) are tools to solve these problems which often have more than one variable.

The best part of teaching is being in the classroom. I enjoy working with students of all abilities. During my teaching career, we were able to keep the Freshmen English classes 20:1. It was a luxury for teachers because they could focus their personal attention to the students. Most student benefited from this arrangement. i taught English 9 my entire teaching career. Our goals were to establish strong skills that would help them when they moved on to large English classes. Due to budget cuts, the 20:1 classes were lost last year.Working on-to-on or in small groups gives me the opportunity to focus entirely on students, thus increasing their confidence in their own abilities.

I have 27 years teaching experience from four different states. I have taught from 1st through 10th grade both single subject and self-contained (all subjects) classes. I have taught on 3 Native American Reservations, the Alaskan Bush and have six years teaching Alternative Education self-contained (3rd through 8th grade) classes. Extensive teaching in reading, writing and math from 1st through 8th grade. This diversity of experience has lent itself to meeting many different cultures, values and mores and the need to adapt my teaching to make sure all students will have the chance for success.
