In highschool, I had a really difficult time keeping my grades up sometimes and it wasn't always because I didn't understand the subject, I just didn't care or didn't like the teacher as much as others. Going to tutoring instantly changed my view on any class that I saw that way, because my tutor would make me fully understand and appreciate as well as explain what I just learned. Instead of sitting in class bored and wanting to leave, I was sitting in class fully intrigued and more caught up than anyone in the class. That's a great feeling and I would love to help other people achieve that same accomplishment.I am a very reliable person, and I don't have too much of an overwhelming social life considering I only moved here a few months ago. I would love to dedicate my free time to this positive time investment.

Not only do I have a strong tutoring background, but I love teaching people and sharing the knowledge that I have with them to help students succeed. I am a very energetic and positive person and am determined to help students understand difficult topics to the best of their abilities. I have had many jobs in the past, including tutoring, Director of Publications for the Southern California Piano Conservatory Foundation, volunteer at UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital, and piano teacher, and have been very reliable and consistent with them all. I am a very organized and prompt person-I keep a written organizer as well as an updated calendar on my phone, and I am constantly staying on top of all my tasks. I never forget to do assignments or show up for things because I always know what needs to be done. I do not allow myself to ever be late, whether it's just to meet up with a study group or for a job. It is very important to me to take my jobs very seriously and I can be trusted to fulfill every task to the best of my ability and to succeed.

I tutored for MERIT services in Aptos, CA. My subjects included ESL, assisting with college admission essays and college-level essays in various subjects, including history, sociology, and english. I attended students' homes which entailed constant interaction with parents, and I also attended students' schools and met in common study areas.While I lived in Mexico I was private english tutor.While an Instructional Aide in Santa Cruz County I often taught full size classes, small groups, and individuals in essay composition, reading comprehension, and standardized test preparation.

My past tutoring experience consisted of working with special needs and severely disturbed children as an In Home Support Counselor. My responsibilities included supporting my client in the classroom in addition to monitoring, tracking, and tutoring as needed. Basically, I assisted with solving addition, subtraction, and story problems while ensuring accountability.My clients were at their best during homework assignments. I felt more like their coach who prided himself on their classroom outcomes instead of an In Home Support Counselor.

I am a very patient person, and I also love to teach. Even when I was little I use to play teacher with my cousins. My patience and teaching enjoyment makes me a very good tutor. I have tutored my younger cousins in subjects they have had difficulty in and have made the subjects more comprehensible for them. I also have a very easy going personality that would put the student at ease with me and make learning more comfortable. Another quality I believe would be useful in tutoring is that I have a very creative mind. I can come up with very unique ways of teaching that make learning fun.At the present time I am in to organizations, my sorority and an international internship organization, AIESEC. With both organizations I always make sure i attend the meetings and that I am an active member. Once I start something I make sure I am committed it to it, making me a reliable member of the organization.

I know I would be a good tutor for Grade Potential because I have had many years of experience working with students in both one-on-one as well as group settings through teaching and coaching. I have experience as a substitute teacher as well as several years of experience working in a classroom setting as a student teacher as part of my teacher credentialing program at Biola University. One of my strengths is being able to relate with others of diverse backgrounds; This is important in teaching and tutoring because I have the ability to explain and teach things in a personal way that relates to the specific student's needs and understanding based on their background and level of knowledge. I am good at getting to know the student(s), meeting them where they are at, and using that personal knowledge of them to create relevance to the subject matter in a way that makes sense to them. Another one of my strengths is motivating and mentoring. I have an immense background of coaching, and through that experience, I have learned to develop my motivating skills in various settings and am able to encourage students to put forth their best effort and equip them to set and achieve specific goals for themselves. I am driven and determined to do whatever it takes to bring my students and/or athletes to success.

Getting to this point in my life was not easy. I have worked very hard and feel that I could not have done it without a little motivation from others. I feel as a tutor I could help and motivate my students just as much and help them succeed with their education. I know that every person is different, so my teaching approaches have to be different for each student I tutor. I am a very responsible and reliable person. I feel that everything I do is important and any commitments I make, I make sure to keep them. I feel that the students I will be tutoring are important to me too, and I do not want to let them down.

I would be a good tutor because I am very patient when teaching or helping someone with. I have always been very good at math and since Mechanical Engineering is predominantly math based I am constantly doing math so I have been able to reinforce all math types and continue to use most of the math I learned in daily applications. I have very good communication skills and I am willing to take any time to prepare beforehand to be completely prepared to give the best tutoring experience I could possibly give.
