Buildings, Buildings, Buildings, So Ho, Manhattan is a borough of lofty-faced buildings. Buildings have characterized So Ho Manhattan throughout the centuries. It is a busy, bustling area of dominant buildings, car-packed streets, and people on a walk-roll, hurriedly walking and crossing the streets of town.
So Ho consists of 26 blocks and about 500 buildings, magnificent architectural creations that earned them the title of National Historic Landmark. You can walk the street of town, running across buildings from the late 1800’s that sport a dapper look. One of them is quite impressive, solid looking and has a rosy smile to its person. It’s on 28 Broadway, and was built in 1889, and designed by the notable Samuel Warner, in the Queen Anne style, so popular at the time.
How time flies. It’s about a hundred and fifty years later, TODAY. And, today’s So Ho boosts the Iron Age. So Ho has the largest collection of historic cast iron architecture in the world! My, what an accomplishment, an inspiration for students of history and architecture both. So Ho tutors are experts in both arenas. They can also help you learn general subjects, test-taking skills, study skills; you name it: the A, B, and C’s of success.
There was many a successful architect involved in the monumental structures sweeping the skyline about So Ho. Historically, it has been referred to as the “Cast Iron District.” These formidable structures were built by pioneers in urban architecture. Strong, fire resistant, less costly than stone, and ready to grow astronomically fast for the times, they emerged – speedily, efficiently and decoratively too, in the late 1900’s.
Ho Ho’s historic Gunther Building sports more windows than wall. You’d never know it was a cost iron structure. It’s six stories high: solid, decorative, loaded with windows and windows to dreams. Another Historic So Ho building having the sturdiness of iron and quite a nifty personality too is the E.V. Huaghwout Building. It was constructed in just a year, and the New York Times called it “the greatest China and porcelain house in the city.” It does have a bit of antique in its winsome face, was trendy, and innovative. The Huaghwout Building showcased New York City’s very first passenger safety elevator. Store patrons could rise and drop floor-to-floor, speedily, efficiently, and SAFELY!
A rise in life, at its best does combine, speed, efficiency and security. These are some of the benefits of So Ho Grade Potential Tutoring too. Tutors help move the student along fast, target the crucial areas of need and rise in skills and stature. Like So Ho’s Historic Buildings, benefit in cast iron solid educational and career growth.
