I would be a good tutor because I am willing and able to address each student individually and approach the material from an angle they learn from best. I like to teach through analogy and overlay already known concepts on to new concepts/ideas so the student already has a template of understanding.

Teaching requires three skills, 1) knowledge of subject, 2) ability to organize and present in a coherent manner and 3) ability to hold the attention of or motivate an individual or audience. Any subject is begun by diagnosing the student(s)' present abilities and deficiencies dovetailed with goals and deadlines. My work has emphasized getting the students to respond and provide the answers.It was not a matter of just doling out information, but teaching them language skills that they hopefully internalized into their daily communication.I do consider myself organized and dependable, and have been remarked as so by others. I have always had a passion for teaching. As I have always struggled in all levels of math, I have known the necessity of a great tutor. I never would have passed Stats without one! I think my history with children and teenagers has given me the opportunity to experience how they learn and what tactics to use with kids with different personalities. I think students trust me because I am confident and friendly, while still firm enough to let them know that I expect honest effort from them.I served as a nanny for 3 children for 3 years and helped them with their homework every day so I am used to one on one, I also served as a substitute teacher so I have been in classrooms K-12 very recently.

I love working with youth. I enjoy tutoring various subjects. I am extremely confident in my ability to efficiently teach each of the subjects I have listed because I have done it many times before. I am a very reliable, committed individual who has no problem keeping appointments. I believe accountability is one of the most important aspects in, not only this field, but any professional setting.

I am an architecture student at Cal Poly. I have taken and passed math classes up to Calc. II. and am currently taking structural engineering classes, a requisite for my degree. I like math due to its objective nature, and am good at explaining it to young kids.I developed and implemented a tutoring program at my grade school for grades 1st-8th. I did that from 2007-2011. I love working with kids, and I am good at explaining subjects in a fun and interesting way.

I would be a good tutor because I am enthusiastic and truly care about my students' success! I am easygoing, approachable, and fresh out of school, which allows me to relate to the experience of a student struggling with the subject material. I have found that being relatable greatly eases the stress felt by a student, allowing them to relax, explain what is confusing to them, and learn at their own pace. I always take things one step at a time and have no problem repeating something or trying a different approach. I enjoy challenging my students appropriately and seeing them rise to my expectation.I moved to CA to start my new job at the naval base in Port Hueneme. I am available reliably after 5pm, when I get off work, and could certainly work in some weekend hours tutoring given enough notice.
