I taught classes with students ranging from 20 to 400 throughout my doctorate career. I'm very clear and patient and love to see students excel. I also make subject matters interesting and exciting to learn about. I maintained a 4.0 throughout my doctorate career and know how to teach others to master any exam and/or write an "A" paper.I tutored throughout my high school and college career in subjects from Math, Algebra, English, Writing.

I believe I will be a great tutor for Grade Potential because I have a passion for teaching. I enjoy fostering a love for learning in other people. I am confident in the knowledge I have gained as a student and can communicate this knowledge successfully to others. I am most happy when I see someone I've tutored grasp a difficult concept and go on to succeed at it. I am patient and hardworking, as well as friendly and confident. My career goal is to be a teacher so I will work hard to gain applicable experience. I am reliable and energetic and can always be counted on to be dependable

I have a love for teaching and students. I want students to reach their highest academic potential. I have had training in various teaching strategies and differentiation for struggling students. I have also had experience teaching students of all levels including ESL and special needs. My goal is to give the students a positive, creative and encouraging learning environment in which they can best reach their academic goals. I embrace all learners and believe that there is no one way to learn, everyone has their own learning style. I hope to help students discover their learning styles to best achieve academic success. One of the main parts of being an educator requires the teacher to be a good example to all students. Being responsible by showing up on time and prepared is something that I intend on doing as part as my role as the students tutor. I want students to have fun in their studies and come to love learning!

-Having been raised by my mother, a high school Spanish teacher for 30+ years, I have come to develop an understanding of the importance of education as well as effective/ineffective learning techniques -I am an empathetic individual who always strives to recognize unique talents and personalities, adapting the conversation or presentation of academic material accordingly -My experience in high school in the AVID program played a big role in developing my plans for my academic career. The challenges and rewards experienced in working with struggling students fostered my understanding of the importance of knowledge and the unleashing of potential in academic endeavors -As a continuing doctoral student, I have a disciplined work ethic which coincides with my consistent devotion to detail. I keep to commitments made and can be relied upon to perform needed duties to the best of my ability

First and foremost, I have a lot of fun while tutoring. I enjoy the students' reactions when they are able to solve a problem on their own after a little bit of guidance from me. Also, I have very good communication skiils and I bring plenty of enthusiasm to the job. I always pay attention to the student and his or her needs as opposed to just solving the problem. I listen to any of their questions or concerns and I try to the best of my ability to answer them or direct them in the right directionI am a reliable person because I'm an Eagle Scout. In the scout law, one of the adjectives that describes an Eagle Scout is "trustworthy". I stay true to my roots and I was raised the right way. I think ahead and plan my schedule accordingly.

Though it may seem corny, I consider myself a lifelong student. My desire to read everything I can get my hands on, observe everything going on in front of me, and daily grow in my understanding of the world, has instilled a deep reverence in me for what knowledge can do to empower young people. More than anything, it is the desire to impart a love for learning on those around me that guarantees my effectiveness as a tutor.I don't think it is sufficient for a tutor to simply "know their stuff". I believe it is also essential for them to have a personal investment in their student's understanding of the material in front of them. This excitement for learning, for the process of discovery, and for academia itself guarantees that I will work my best to help my students both understand and enjoy their schoolwork.In addition to enthusiasm for learning, I can say with complete honesty that I am an incredibly reliable person. I am rarely, if ever late, always maintain commitments, and take personal responsibility for fulfilling all duties promised to people. Especially when providing a one on one service to another person, I believe it is extremely important to always respect the other person's time and schedule. I can say with no reservations that maintaining professionalism and reliability is of utmost importance to me as a person and as an employee.

I think that the one-on-one attention that tutoring provides is incredibly important to a student's learning experience. I take the position seriously and would do everything I can to make my sessions educational and fun. I love the subjects I study and know them inside and out. I would make sure that the students I tutor not only know the information for the test, but have a deeper understanding. I want them to have the ability to make connections and apply what they have learned. I am responsible, caring and would never jeopardize a student's learning by being late or missing appointments. I want to make a strong relationship with Grade Potential and the students, I would commit to that by being punctual and keeping appointments.I tutored English for a few students throughout the year I studied in Chile.I also taught English to classes of 14-17 year-old students in Chile once a week for four months.

I think that I would be a great tutor because I am a people-friendly person. I love helping people and I am striving to become a teacher and have been since I was in eighth grade. I have been tutoring for a long time now and have had the students I tutor improve their grades greatly once I started working with them. I am always about ten minutes early to all appointments I make, even when I meet with my friends for dinner I am always one of the first people there. I always give early notice if I can't make it to something and I will continue to do so.I have had past experience as a tutor, mostly as an independent contractor with wyzant.com. I have also tutored when I was in high school and during community college at my schools just helping other students with understanding the classes they were taking.
