Through out my educational experience, I was always a responsible and organized student. I am able to comprehend and explain material in a new and interesting way that takes the information out of the textbook into real-life situations, making the assignments and subjects more manageable to study. I began my teaching career in the fall of 2005. The following school year I was asked to help with a new after-school math tutoring that was going to be implemented to help students succeed in math. Tutoring was the icing on the cake of teaching, due to the fact that I was able dedicate more one-on-one time explaining mathematical concepts students struggled with; the setting was more personal than the classroom, and enabled me to more directly involved with a student’s progress. In addition, working with a diverse student population (academic levels and needs) has made me a better teacher.As an educator in the classroom I take my responsibilities and commitments very seriously, especially with my students. I'm an enthusiastic individual who values education and what education can do for individuals. For the past seven years, without exaggeration, I have only missed work because of medical reasons, mainly concerning my wife, and late 2 or 3 times, due to traffic conditions in the freeways of Los Angeles. I like working with kids, and I find tutoring to be very rewarding. I know how difficult math and science can be, and how teachers do not always "teach" subjects where students actually learn or fully understand the materials. I am a very patient person when it comes to working with children. I have a nephew with autism and I enjoy working with him and demonstating valuable tools to his learning development.
