I would be a good tutor for Grade Potential because I am an extremely reliable person in regards that I put my work commitments above all others and I am punctual. I also grew up with my mother who was a kindergarten teacher, so I was around the teaching environment which taught me my patience and the fact that every child learns differently. I am also a very relatable person, so in the past I have seen the people I tutor as friends more than student I'm helping" which makes it easier for the student to learn in a comfortable environment.

I just recently worked full-time in a private ESL language academy in Seoul, Korea, teaching English to students aged 4-13. We were required to develop lesson plans, curricula, and syllabi specific to each class, as well as tailor instruction to the individual needs of each student. Classes ranged from 1-10 students each. Other subjects such as science and history were taught, with an emphasis on reading, writing, and speaking English fluently. I also attended language exchanges, which involved meeting adult speakers of other languages in a casual setting to help them learn conversational English, and corrected their written work when requested.In college, whenever I had a good grasp of course material, I led study sessions to tutor my fellow classmates and often corrected their written papers (content, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and punctuation).

I am very personable and educated. I have a lot of patience and I like making learning fun.I have tutored kids in elementary and junior high. I also did some help with the English department when I was earning my bachelors. I worked in the writing center.

Being a tutor is more than knowing the subject matter well. Understanding it myself is one thing; being able to help someone else get it, too, is an amazing feeling! I tend to think of teaching more as guidance and approach it by first becoming aware of the student's interest levels and ways that they best learn. Some folks are more visual while others are more auditory or hands-on learners. One person may be wanting to learn how to speak to their foreign employees and need to acquire job-specific vocabulary, while another would much rather be playing basketball than reading a book. Getting to know the individual can make a huge difference in how I interact with them to get them engaged in the material.I understand the importance of commitments, punctuality, reliability, and overall professionalism. Without this dedication, I would never have become a successful massage therapist and business owner! Although I have at times worked at many locales at a given period, I have always operated on a first-call-first-serve basis--meaning that if I have a scheduled engagement, it takes priority; I have never reneged on a professional commitment. Due to this dependability and, of course, my timeliness in answering/returning phone calls, I quickly rose to the top of my employers' contact lists, becoming their primary go-to therapist.But I acquired this work ethic long before becoming a massage therapist. Meeting deadlines and providing strong customer service skills were required for excelling at every one of my previous jobs, including those in Development and Administration, as you'll see in my resume.

I am very much a person of integrity and a good communicator. I can be relied on to keep my commitments or, in the odd case I cannot, to be a clear communicator about the need to make a change in a commitment. I am a relationship builder and very good at listening and clearly communicating with others. I believe in seeing the best in others and calling it forth -- not enabling them. I'm a natural teacher. I have a passion for education and for helping children and young people succeed and would really enjoy this opportunity to help coach others to academic (and therefore life) success.I worked as a Literacy Volunteer of America teaching and tutoring students in English as a Second Language. I have informally tutored children by assisting them with homework -- primarily in reading and math. I have taught many classes in spirituality, religion, communication, and meditation -- with some psychology.

I really like working with students and seeing them grow as young adults. I enjoy when students stop fearing math and see them embrace it. I feel like I make students comfortable and really make them enjoy the work they are doing. I am also a very patient person and I always take my time with students who seemed to struggle learning a material. I have worked with kids that have ADD, are extremely shy, and have dyslexia so I feel that I can really tackle almost any kid and make them successful young students. I was rarely late to work in my last tutoring job and I always make my job a priority in my life. I tend to not miss appointments because I know that I am not only bringing a bad reputation to the company but also preventing the student from learning.

First, I think I would be a good tutor because my other job is coaching. I believe I am good at communicating ideas in a variety of ways depending on the learning style of the student. Second, I believe I have a lot of patience and an appreciation of process. Like all of us, I love seeing good end results, but both in the classroom and during my time as a player I always loved the time and work necessary to reach a goal. Third, I love seeing people "get it." There is nothing more gratifying than seeing a student finally internalize an idea and be able to reproduce it consistently on his or her own to solve problems. Finally, having been a captain on my team in college and being a coach now, I am very organized. I will be on time to my appointments and fulfill any commitment I make to you and to any of my students.

Tutored an individual for his first two years of high school over the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years. Main focus was math (basic algebra and pre-algebra) as well biology and writing skills.I have worked with kids for many years now coordinating and running basketball camps for Whitworth University over the last few summers. I know what it takes to keep them motivated and on task as well as how to make learning and hard work fun and fulfilling for them. I am organized, responsible, and disciplined, but know how to do those things while still remaining accessible and trustworthy.
