    About Woodinville

    The small community of Woodinville is located in west central Washington, and is located within the metropolitan area of Seattle. Because of its location, residents of Woodinville are afforded access to all of the rich amenities of the big city of Seattle. Many residents of Woodinville live here while commuting to Seattle for work each day, due to its convenient proximity. Woodinville is a relatively affluent community in the Pacific Northwest, and is known for a thriving wine industry.     Before European settlers came to the area that is now Woodinville, Native Americans lived here. Specifically, the Sammamish tribe thrived in this region, living off the land and its many resources. In the late 1800s, white settlers came to the area, and on of the first settlers of the town of Woodinville, Ira Woodin, is its namesake. Not unlike many cities in this region of Washington, Woodinville’s main export was timber, and after a lot of logging and depletion of local forests, the cleared land was used for farming. The fertile soil provided an ideal environment for growing crops of all sorts, and Woodinville was considered to be a farming center in the early 1900s.

    For those visiting Woodinville, the Tourist District is a neighborhood of Woodinville that should be at the top of your list of places to go. The Tourist District of Woodinville is home to many of the renowned local wineries, along with a popular local brewery, as well as a famous lodge and restaurant. This area of Woodinville is known for attracting tourists from around the country and around the world, and has really helped to put Woodinville on the map. The Town Center is another neighborhood of Woodinville that should be on your list; some of Woodinville’s best restaurants and shops can be found in the Town Center. Woodinville’s tourism industry has been growing in recent years.
