    About Spring Valley

Primarily a residential suburb of Las Vegas, Spring Valley, Nevada is located two miles west of the Strip and right next door to Red Rock National Conservation Area. Originally a planned community of homes on land previously occupied by Stardust International Raceway, Spring Valley is now over 33 square miles and occupies most of the southwest quarter of the Las Vegas Valley. Significant features of Spring Valley include Spanish Trail Country Club and Desert Breeze Park. Spanish Trail Country Club is a private club with 27 holes of golf designed by fame course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The club also features tennis, swimming and fine dining. Desert Breeze Park, one of the largest parks in the Las Vegas metropolitan area, offers 240 acres of skate parks, soccer fields, playgrounds, baseball diamonds and picnic grounds. The park hosts the annual Bite of Las Vegas food and music festival in September. The festival includes live entertainment and food from over 40 vendors.

While truly a quiet suburb, Spring Valley is on the edge of a city which never turns out the lights. A Grade Potential Tutor can get you caught up on your studies so you can enjoy all the fun in one of America’s most exciting cities. Spring Valley is only a few blocks from the action on Las Vegas Boulevard, more famously known as the Strip. But while gambling is king, there are many more things to do and see on the Strip. A quick trip down Hacienda Avenue places visitors at the Mandalay Bay, one of the finest and most famous resorts in the world. Mandalay Bay not only offers superior lodging, dining and gambling, it is home to Shark Reef, a tunnel style aquarium which is home to over 2,000 animals including sharks, giant rays, sea turtles, piranha and jellyfish. The aquarium is currently hosting an interactive exhibit called Polar Journey. The resort also features high end sporting events such as world class boxing and live entertainment in the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

A walk down Las Vegas Boulevard includes a variety of sights and sounds. At the southern end of the Strip, a visitor can behold the wonders of Egypt in the form of the Luxor resort in the shape of a great pyramid complete with a replica of the Great Sphinx of Giza at the hotel’s entrance. Further up the road visitors are greeted by a faux New York City skyline at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino. For those with French tastes, Paris resort includes a half-scale model of the Eiffel Tower with restaurant on top. Across the street, the Bellagio adopts an Italian theme with a Lake Como type lagoon in the front of the property which erupts into a water show several times each evening. And, speaking of eruptions, The Mirage puts on its own nightly show with a Volcano in the violent throes of spewing steam and lava.

For those who wish to escape the glamour and glitz of the Strip, it’s only a short drive from Spring Valley to Red Rock Canyon. With its amazing red rock formations, the canyon is a must-see attraction for any visitor to Las Vegas. The canyon is home to a variety of wildlife including mammals, reptiles, flowering plants and cactus. It’s also a mecca for hikers with nearly 20 different trails and a wide range of scenic landscapes.
