A small city in the northwestern part of the state of Washington, Silverdale is a quiet community with small-town charm. Located along the Dyes Inlet off of Puget Sound, Silverdale has access to many local amenities, including many big city resources thanks to its close proximity to Seattle.
Before white settlers arrived to his area of the Pacific Northwest, Native Americans lived on this land. Because of its natural resources, this area was great for fishing and hunting. The Salish and Suquamish tribes lived here and flourished for thousands of years. The area was settled by Europeans in the late 1700s, and later established as the Washington Territory in the mid 1800s. When the territory was created, the area was heavily logged, as timber was a major export for the region. The fertile soil was also perfect for farming, and as large forested areas were cleared to harvest timber, large spaces of land were opened up for farms to be established.
These days, Silverdale is known for having great shopping options. Many people from surrounding cities and communities come to Silverdale to shop at the Kitsap Mall, along with other big name stores. Having all of these shops and stores provides many jobs for locals in Silverdale.
When it comes to community events, Silverdale always has something going on. One of the most popular annual events is Whaling Days, which happens every summer. A fun event for the whole family, this festival includes a fireworks display at night, and a fun-filled parade during the day.
With so many beautiful natural open spaces and parks in Silverdale, bird watching has become a very popular pastime here. A local club, the Kitsap Audubon Society has been in operation since the 1970s. The club keeps their website updated with sightings of local birds, as well as information on local wildlife that one can expect to see in Silverdale.
Served by the Central Kitsap School District, Silverdale boasts access to a dozen elementary schools, several middle schools, and a few high schools, too. Besides public schools, a few private schools and charter schools are available too, providing families with options when it comes to choosing the best school for their needs. For extra help, local Silverdale tutors are available. These tutors can meet one-on-one with each student, providing assistance in a wide variety of subjects. Hiring a tutor could be the key to achieving success when it comes to educational goals.

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
