Situated across the street from the Historic City Hall, the Rocklin History Museum is home to the Historical Society. The building itself was originally constructed to be the home and office of town physician, Dr. Henry Fletcher. It was converted to a museum in 2002 with displays such as the granite quarry exhibit and a variety of tools used for granite mining. Rocklin has seen a consistent state of growth, so the Rocklin Historical Society, which operates in the museum, aims to preserve the city’s unique historic and natural features. Combining the charm of its old town history and modern expansion, the Historical Society has deemed itself responsible to maintain Rocklin’s charm.

The center of Rocklin’s charm is Quarry Park: it is the central gathering place for community events and is beating heart of the city. Home to an amphitheater, walking trails, green space, and wildlife, Quarry Park is slated to become the economic center for Rocklin. Because it speaks to the city’s history and unique features–like the spring-fed lake and 70-foot waterfall into Big Gun Quarry–give the park its own identity. The beautiful natural environment is a nice backdrop for picnics, summer concerts, and family outings. It’s the Rocklin’s city officials’ goal that Quarry Park makes the city a destination location; they hope it’ll draw visitors off Highway 80 and check out everything the park has to offer.
