About Peoria

Peoria, Arizona is a lively suburb of Phoenix that is filled with fun indoor and outdoor activities for everyone. After studying with your tutor, you can enjoy the arts and culture of Peoria, a sporting event, or venturing out into nature. Whatever you are interested in, you’ll be able to find it in this city.

For those interested in seeing an entertaining show, they can visit the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. The center is home to Theater Works, a nonprofit theater that is a favorite for all types of families to enjoy the arts. Theater Works puts on numerous types of shows, including plays, musicals, comedy shows, cabarets and concerts. Adult and youth community members are welcome to audition for a chance to participate in the performances. Classes and workshops are also offered for toddlers, kids, and teens to learn how to improve their stage performance skills. Getting a Peoria tutor can help you stay on top of school so that you can enjoy the activities at the Center for the Performing Arts.

For other educational opportunities outside the classroom, visitors can check out the Arizona Challenger Space Center. The Challenger offers various exhibits for anyone looking to learn more about space. Some of these include exhibits on landing gear, satellites, gravity, and memorabilia from real space missions. Students can take field trips or attend camps where they will participate in hands-on workshops appropriate for their grade level. They can learn about the solar system, space exploration, and more in a fun and educational setting.

After going to the space center, sports fans can go to the Peoria Sports Complex. Major League Baseball teams the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres use the Sports Complex for spring training and practice year round. In addition to the professional stadium, there are 12 practice fields that are used by youth and adult baseball leagues to practice and compete throughout the year. The Peoria Sports Complex is not only used for baseball, but also hosts concerts, shows and special events to bring the community out to have fun together.

Peoria also offers various hiking trails so you can get outside and enjoy nature. The Sunrise Mountain Trail offers three trail options for beginning, intermediate, and advanced level hikers. On each trail you can appreciate the desert landscape, with various types of wildflowers and cacti along the way. Another option is to hike the East Wing Mountain trails at Sonoran Mountain Ranch Park. The park has a playground and picnic areas, as well as three trailheads. The trailheads also vary by difficulty, with one beginner trail and two intermediate ones. The East Wing Mountain Trails offer a bit more seclusion away from the city so you can truly relax and enjoy the surroundings. When you’re ready, you can get back to the other popular attractions of Peoria.
