People take their recreation seriously in New Hope, Minnesota. Each year, there are about 30,000 registrations for 120 programs offered through the New Hope Parks and Recreation Department. For a city of roughly 21,000 people, that’s pretty impressive. Even more remarkable is that every household in New Hope is within a quarter mile from a city park. The city maintains twenty well-loved parks, with Northwood Park the cream of the crop, and all kinds of facilities that enable families to have fun year-round. Of course, for students, school comes first, but arranging for tutoring in New Hope can help them get ahead and have more time to play.
Northwood Park
The city recently celebrated the completion of a new playground at this sixty-five-acre park, which also features sport courts, grills, a nature area, playgrounds, and picnic areas with shelters. Northwood Parks hosts New Hope’s annual summer festival, Duk Duk Daze. Visitors to the festival enjoy live music, cash bingo, fireworks, softball tournaments, giant Jenga, a Minnesota Timberwolves basketball shoot-out, an arts and craft fair, games and rides, a beanbag tournament, a fire hose demonstration, a pizza eating contest, and slacklining.
New Hope Village Golf Course
The public nine-hole, par-three golf course is set against amidst wooded scenery and features several water hazards and bunkers, making it a perfect course for both beginners and experienced players. The course can be completed in about ninety minutes.
New Hope Ice Arena
The facility has two standard rinks, which each have public locker rooms and seating (capacity is 2,000, stadium-style, for the north rink and 1,000 for the south rink). Guests can rent figure skates or hockey skates during open skating hours and skating lessons. The rinks are used by high school and youth hockey teams and can also be rented, as can meeting space.
Outdoor Ice Rinks
Four of the parks offer ice rinks with warming facilities that are typically open from mid-December to mid-February. Each park has one rink for general skating and one for ice hockey.
Milton C. Honsey Outdoor Pool
The fifty-meter by eight-lane lap pool is open during the summer and offers lessons, water aerobics, and lap swimming. It’s also available for birthday parties.
Outdoor Theatre
The city maintains an outdoor theater that seats about 450 guests. It is an inviting venue for outdoor movies, a kids’ summer theater program, family story time, and a major musical, complete with orchestra, sets, lighting, and costumes.
New Hope Sk8 Pad
This tier-one skateboard park features modular stainless steel equipment that will allow for a future redesign or expansion. There are eight obstacles, including ramps, grind rails, ledges, and boxes.
There is so much to do in New Hope that families always have some way to have fun. Students who seek New Hope tutors to help them through their studies find they have even more time to enjoy the city’s facilities.

Families share goals and scheduling preferences through a short intake. That information becomes a learner profile. Grade Potential then introduces your profile to a professional independent tutor whose background aligns. Once the tutor accepts, you’re introduced directly and sessions can begin.
Our packages are highly customizable based on your budget, preferred session cadence, time frame, location, and a few other factors. You’ll be presented with clear pricing before you begin. We support families in choosing the session length and cadence that works best for their individual situation; no hard sales tactics and no obligation to purchase a long-term package.
Typically within 2-3 business days, depending on subject, location, and schedule availability. Urgent timelines are noted in your profile so introductions prioritize your timing.
In-person at home or another convenient, quiet, safe location (like the local library). When families need flexibility, online sessions are also available.
Experienced, professional independent tutors with strong subject knowledge and a track record of working one-on-one with students. Many hold degrees in their fields; some are certified teachers or graduate students with specialized expertise.
Yes—safety is our top priority. Tutors complete screening through Simpliverified background checks, consistent with local requirements and platform standards.
