"We had a great experience working with our tutor, Danielle. She was wonderful, patient, kind, and always prepared. She even tailored lessons to Sofia's needs (and moods)."

Mountlake Terrace, Washington is a metropolitan suburb the same as any other, but it did not start that way. The city was first founded as a small settlement meant for World War II veterans and their families. Before long, however, the city grew and is now what we see today.
One of the interesting things that happens in Mountlake Terrace is an art exhibit. Many states and cities have art exhibits, but Mountlake Terrace attracts over 200 guests each year from all around the state. The event is called “Arts of the Terrace Juried Arts Show”, and is a compilation of works from local artists, all entered into the contest in hopes of receiving awards, ribbons, and just some recognition. Many of these artists are most assuredly past or current art students taking lessons with Mountlake Terrace tutors.
The exhibit takes place from the end of September to the beginning of October, and offers a wide variety of art styles for spectators to look at. At the exhibit, you can find paintings, prints, calligraphy, drawings, miniatures, photography, 3-dimensional and artisan art work, of all varying styles and taste. While many of the works are provided by local artists, you will also see works from artists all around the region. This is a perfect event for an art student to come and see the differing styles side by side, and study them. It is a wonderful environment to bring your Mountlake Terrace tutor, as often seeing the examples first hand is so much better.
You will also have the ability to view the awards, as the award ceremony happens the day before the art gala actually opens, so awards and prizes will be visible for all to see. You won’t have to be art buff to appreciate the work and dedication each of these artists put into their pieces.
The Mountlake Terrace art exhibit is a well-known event, one the city is very proud of. It is only held once a year, and artists find themselves preparing year round to create the perfect pieces to enter into the show. With such a wide variety of artwork on display, there will be something for everyone, and even an untrained eye will be able to appreciate the dedication and beauty. The event is definitely one worth seeing, as art exhibits seem to be getting fewer and far between, and with so many pieces available to view it is no wonder why the event has become so popular.
