    About Morgan Hill

The small residential community Morgan Hill is listed as being one of the most sought after places to reside in the U.S. Its privileged residents more than likely work for one of the high tech companies, like Japanese “Anritsu” who produced the world’s first wireless phone network, or “Velodyne” that creates audio equipment, marine solutions and sensor hardware, that both have their U.S. headquarters in Morgan Hill. Morgan Hill tutors recognize that Morgan Hill has in total five sister cities. One of those sister cities Seferihisar, in Turkey, received an inordinate amount of publicity in recent history due to a very tragic event.

At any given time there are individuals suffering from poverty and persecution through no fault of their own, who seek to find a better life for themselves and for their children. Early America’s population grew from Europeans leaving behind their home cities and villages and moving overseas to America with hopes of breaking free of the cultural and political constraints they would otherwise have to endure. Within the U.S. Americans have moved west in hopes of a better life, more land and better opportunities for their offspring.

In December 2007 a group of over fifty illegal migrants, who according to local governor, Orhan Sefik Guldibi, were from Palestinian, Iraqi and Somalian origin, boarded a dinghy from a southern Mediterranean country and set sail on the Aegean Sea destined for Chios in Greece. All but six of the passengers perished in the waters after they became the victims of the boat capsizing in poor weather conditions. The people who were accused of setting up this unsafe passage were arrested for human trafficking days following this tragic incident.

Morgan Hill tutors warn that is not the only incident of its kind, with boats regularly attempting to cross into Europe and due to bad luck, less than desirable weather conditions and using transportation unfit for the journey or holding too much weight, they are often unsuccessful in their attempts. The methods for transportation are almost always precarious; boats are unsafe, and captained by inexperienced sailors, often without the correct equipment for monitoring weather, whirlpools and rocks beneath the surface, or navigation systems to send them in the right direction. In 2007 the Turkish Daily News published a list that went as far back as 1990 showing over 14 unsuccessful attempts made by migrants to enter Europe in a similar fashion, that number has since doubled. Often times these migrants give everything they have to arrange passage on a boat, and the risks outweigh the certain persecution they would face should they remain in their home country.
