Dyker Heights has been called the Christmas Lights Capital of the World, and it is unique because it isn’t just one street of Christmas enthusiasts; the entire community — each and every neighborhood — takes part in this light display. Tourists from around the country, even from around the world, tour Dyker Heights during December to see all of the lights in these holiday displays.

Considered to be one of the very safest neighborhoods or communities in all of New York City, Dyker Heights is proud of its safe streets. Many families move here to Dyker Heights for this reason, though the cost of living is quite expensive. Residents of Dyker Heights boast a very high quality of life, and have easy access to all of New York City’s rich amenities.
