The Calabasas Library was first opened in 2008, partially funded by a public bond, to operate separate from the Los Angeles County Library System. To that end, the mission of the City of Calabasas Library is: to provide free and equal access to materials, information technology, and services, administered by a knowledgeable, professional and caring staff; to respond to changing individual and community needs in reading, research, and education; and to support the cultural and recreational interests, identity and pride of its citizens.” This admirable dedication to the dissemination of knowledge is key to the communal health of Calabasas, and is integral in the educational aims of its different students.
