With many of its residents of German decent, Boerne takes pride in its German heritage. A local singing club, the Boerne Village Band, has been singing together since the 1860s! Of course, generations later, the original singers are no longer with us, but the old tradition is cited as being the most ancient group (outside of Germany, of course) of German singers to be singing together.
